I respectfully disagree. Would you feel the same way if this was a playoff game or the championship game?
Absolutely. I had plenty of teammates in college who broke rules and got suspended. And as a team we dealt with it and moved on without them. It's not the fault of coaches when a kid agrees to the rules and then does not follow them. A lot of team rules stuff is the same no matter what level or where you play. Rules are set out at the beginning of each season in a handbook just as play books are handed out. You learn the deal in camp and if you don't hold your end you get punished. That's life. I believe the only people to blame are the kids who broke the rules.
You can disagree, that's fine. It still does not change that this is how team rules are administered in college football regardless of level or team. Now some coaches may not hold their guys to punishments or whatever, but from what I know and what he has shown throughout his time at ND, Coach Kelly is a team first, integrity guy. Sometimes respect comes from enforcing the tough rules regardless of who is involved.
