These things have a way to bring out the best in teams like ND who are a "team". I won't be surprised if we see the best defensive effort of the year.

I would hope, it's our first game of the year
I agree. If we have someone better, they need to be on the field. Stars shouldn't matter once they hit campus.I may be in the minority on this but I think the coaches need to move on and start looking for a long term replacement for Redfield. He hasn't lived up to the 5* hype and has been more of a liability than anything else.
Sound harsh, but I think we need to cut our losses and move on.
What can I say, I'm an ass. LolAs soon as I posted, I knew someone would jump in and say that. Was just too lazy to change it to "season". lol
With Jarron back, Kelly and VanGorder can finally officialy move Okwara to defensive back now.
Earlier in the year BK said something drastic would have to happen to play Sebastian. I wonder if this is that something.
No, he won't play. He and the rest of the injured guys arrive today to the bowl site.
How many 747's are they filling up? Or did they fill an aircraft carrier instead which caused the late arrival?

What does this even mean? Kids are only get to play four seasons of football, so the coaches are always grooming a replacement for every position. Max is no different.
I don't know what you mean by "cut our losses". Max hasn't got into real trouble, struggled with academics or done anything worthy of getting "cut", which is something we don't do. We aren't going to tell a kid to pack his bags just because he hasn't lived up to his hype yet. Is that what you are inferring?
No italicsThey needed 2 separate planes just to transport BVG's playbook.

Or a dare to OSU. Also letting Nick know he needs to be dialed in and have his crap together.
He was much more inconsistent than Sheldon was last year, but when he was dialed in he manhandled linemen. He owned Florida State for a lot of that game. If he can stay healthy next year, I'm not sure anybody is gonna run on his and Rochelle's side.I can't wait to see Jarron Jones. He's better than Sheldon Day IMO. Both are great college players. I want to see a lineup of Jarron, Day, with Trumbetti and Rochelle on the ends for a few plays. That's a BA front 4.

I think BK is simply playing the triple reverse psychology card
Or deflecting attention away from the one really glaring weak spot of the defense we have spent all season complaining about.
Agree. I didn't realize James would be ready for the bowl game, what a pleasant surprise.Great news. Based on my rewatching of the games this year, I felt James played some very consistent ball. I think, like with many things, his play was widely "unnoticed", if you will. That will happen with all eyes on Jaylon, and all crosshairs on Schidmt.

Give up??? Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
