Wonder if Schiano to pOSU will help them in recruiting or not. All the defensive recruits would have to believe that Schiano will only be there a couple of years before he gets a head coaching gig.

How many assistant coaches does Urban have? At some point the title has to be watered down.

I think Schiano has more negative associations at this point than positive

That's a big hire. Especially for the NJ recruiting. State is loaded with talent.

How much coaching can he actually do? I know this is with a recruit, but how much you wanna bet that Schiano is going to be part of the planning for the bowl game? While he wont be on the field coaching per se, I bet he'll be breaking down tape, following up with recruits and anything else he can do without getting being an "actual coach".

Meyer prefers a co-DC tandem according to OSU fans on r/cfb. He was co-DC with the guy who just took the Rutgers job last season so they're filling his spot.

I'm more interested in all of the AHC titles held over there. Like is it just a way to get more money to the assistants?

I was thinking the same thing. Do they have AHC dinner nights where the families get together and talk about how they finagled more money out of OSU for absolutely nothing? Or do they arm wrestle like true Dbags to see who the best AHC really is?

Way off topic, I know...but watching this game he is commentating...(and I don't know where else to vent this...)

Mark Jackson might be the worst announcer I've ever heard. And it is no coincidence when he left that team all of a sudden became the greatest to ever play the game.

He's the weird kind of Christian. Can't like him.

Everyone is allowed 9 asst coaches. If Urbie's d-coordinator left to Rutgers already, Schiano is fine to be an actual coach on the field as well as recruit off campus.

If every coach is still on board, he is still allowed to watch film and break it down and help in the game-planning, just like any analyst, but he won't be allowed to call recruits or help in that way. But he can host them once they are on campus.
