yes he is announcing on Tues the 15th....per 247 ND it is unless something REALLY weird happens...he is just enjoying the process a bit...noted NO ONE IS RECRUITING HIM HARDER THAN ND

Really like the way the staff has attacked our priorities during these visits.
Hopefully nothing weird happens on his Texas visit.
Would suck to lose out on this kid with a whim late visit to a team whose coach is 48–30.
Personally, I'd rather hear him say he is staying home to play for a guy who is 145–51 over his career quite honestly. As both programs appear to be at same rebuilding stages.
All moot, hopefully, as it sounds like the good guys are still in position to win out.
This class is really coming together nicely. Some real players in this class and guys that will contribute to a lot of winning down the road.
Bold prediction: Studstill is our starting SS as a true freshman

As an EE I really don't see that as a stretch or at least does a rep share like they had planned for Jaylon when he was an freshman prior to Danny going down. However, I posted this on the 247 board and people lost their shit, I didn't even think it was that bold of a prediction.
It's only a bold prediction if playing safety in BVG's defense is as difficult as Shumate and Redfield have made it look over the last couple of years. If its an extreme learning curve, then it would make sense that Redfield stays at FS and a guy like Tranquill starts and shares time at SS whether it be with Sebastian or one of the freshmen. But if its actually possible for someone to come in and grasp the D w/in six months, then I think it makes sense to move Redfield to SS because he's had fantastic games in run support (while showing very little in coverage), and let some of the freshmen get a shot at FS.
Maybe Schmidt will hang around the sidelines during games to yell to him where to line up each play.

Given our current roster, how do most people expect us to fill the positions at safety? We all have to give a head nod to Redfield, hopefully he'll be a changed player, again, only this time really.
That leaves a massive hole where Shumate mostly played and where Farley sometimes subbed in.
Tranquil? Mykelti?
Are those the only true options at this point? Sure seems like Studstill will have as good a chance as any freshman to crack the lineup or earn serious PT.

My money is on Tranquill.

If KVR comes back, I could see him moving to safety and let one of the corners who has been learning the defense take his spot at CB. I think KVR is a more natural safety anyway.
That's a really interesting thought.
Would KVR then be the FS and Redfield the SS? We'd have Coleman/Watkins on one side and Luke on the other with Crawford taking the nickel? I guess KVR could be the SS but he'd probably be better at reading the QB eyes and covering ground.
Me likey

No love for Butler.
