With the Manziel families' illustrious history, I wouldn't be surprised if this was insurance fraud.

"Everything Paul loved and cherished was in that home. He loved his house," Paul Manziel's girlfriend Beverly Green said. "Thank you to friends and family for all of your prayers. We are just blessed no one was in the house and everyone is safe."

Does it shock anyone else to discover that "everything Paul loved and cherished" was a material possession? Based on johnny's attitude and behavior, I find it hard to believe that anyone in that family could be even the slightest bit shallow and artificial.

Wow.....you mad bro?

He very well could be the materialistic prick you think he his, but inferring that from this quote is a bit much. Hell, if my house burned down today, it wouldn't just be the things in there, but the memories, pictures, etc. Those are the things that I cherish and I could very well state that in a one line quote as "everything Ndaccountant loved and cherished was in that house".

As much as I hate JFF, I have to agree. Every THING inherently means material possessions.

And clearly if members of the Manziel family were in there and died, then that quote would have read much differently.

Thankfully, nobody was hurt.

JFF's grandfather has a girlfriend? Sounds like he parties like his grandson. You can't tie down a Manziel!

No. I'm not mad. I just found the quote to be funny, given what the general impression of Johnny is...

It was a lake house, not a primary residence. If you keep grandma's ashes at your lake house, how important are they really?

A friend of mine is a die hard Cleveland Browns fan. He's never been a blind homer, but he's always said, even at their worst, "They're my team. I'm gonna support them."

He sent me the following text on Sunday night:

Browns suck. No end in sight to poor play. I'm pissed and tired of rooting for them. Dating back to last season they have lost 10 of last 12. Bust draft picks left and right. Idiots like Gordon and Manziel. Another poor choice for coach. Embarrasding. Not sure I care if they win or lose the rest of the year. Did I mention that they suck

My response was:

You know I'm a Steelers guy, but Cleveland fans deserve MUCH better....

So, you still think Manziel is the answer for the Browns, Gattaca? Maybe you never thought that, but I still don't see a well adjusted adult here. Certainly seems like more of a problem that they need to rectify by giving him the boot.

Man, Kostner told em how to play it. Draft Mack and then parlay interest in the punky QB for more picks. Including a stud RB.

But instead... They picked the punky QB

Don't you have to show signs of intoxication?

They smelled alcohol on his breath, and he admitted to having had a couple of drinks. If that had been any regular Joe, 99.999999% chance he is getting sobriety checked with the preconceived idea that he is impaired.

Realistically? No. I'd like to see what we have in him though, so this doesn't drag on another season. What's the point in playing McCown? He isn't the long term answer, and no matter how well he plays this season we aren't making the playoffs. So just play Johnny, if he is good they hooray! If he is terrible than at least we will have the number 1 pick and can replace him with someone with some talent, instead of reaching for a 2nd round project type guy at the end of the 1st like usual.

Who would you draft at QB? Connor Cook? I've seen some drafts suggest Paxton Lynch from Memphis, but no way I spend a 1st rounder on him, would certainly feel like a Browns move though.

Goff from Cal will probably be the top QB taken this year.

MSU has put out some great QBs of late.

Honestly, after seeing NE get away with cheating again... I'm pretty much done with the NFL... at least for the time being... what's the point?
