"Notre Dame .. [defensive line coach] Keith Gilmore is a great guy. It seems like their coaching staff has all coached together before at some point, so they obviously have a lot of chemistry. Agreed, we have so many guys who can get after the QB on this roster. Why go after a rivals 200 player who lives a half hour from campus?

Have to correct myself. Last time I commented I had watched his sophomore highlights by mistake. He's definitely improved his first step but it's hard to judge how efficient he'll be rushing the passer. He looks to be the same build as Nyles Morgan was when Morgan was a senior. Looks about 6-1 which is short. Height isn't everything at DE but it helps a ton. He also looks like he's going up some pretty weak competition. Would like to see how he does in some camp settings against elite OTs.

beal and kaindoh are a notch above...they are elite talents in terms of athleticism...not saying corey isn't good...because he is a truly solid talent

Just my opinion (which some don't like) but Beal and Kaindoh are cream of the crop. Excellent length, quick first step, room to grow...Both are pure 4-3 DE's. Malone-Hatcher looks much shorter/stockier. He's a good athlete but doesn't have the length. I think he'd be much better suited coming off the edge in a 3-4. He's a solid player, but I don't think he's going to quite be coveted by everyone like Beal and Kaindoh.

Corey is pretty athletic for a guy who plays with his hand in the dirt and maybe people just forget that because we got someone else in the fold and because he was apparently playing hurt in his highlights. Just because we got Beal doesn't mean Corey isn't very, very good.

I think if he can go through the transformation, Corey could be an elite 3-tech.

CMH is very, very good that no one should pass up but yes his upside is not that of Beal and Kaindoh who have the potential to be special with there next level athleticism.

Beal and Kaindoh are WDE's.

CMH is someone who I think can play both DE spots equally.

We checked on him again, feel like we've been recruiting this kid since the 7th grade.

His dad posts on UM message board and is a die hard Michigan fan. They will be tough to beat but ND has put themselves in a great spot IMO. Probably running number 2 right now

Really? Even with Kaindoh still out there?

With the early reports of the d-linemen already showing great improvements in spring practice (hand placement, specifically) and after seeing a few d-linemen in 2015 have their best seasons yet, it wouldn't totally shock me if we are saying Gilmore is the best ND hire since HH. Which is saying a lot because he has made some crazy good hires since being here. (HH, Denbrock, Sanford, Gilmore, Denson)
