WoW, I'd say that sucks for Mora, but it really couldn't have happened to a nicer guy...hahaha.

bunch of Bruins fans on r/cfb bagging on Clark for wasting a roster spot for a more deserving player but I'm been reminding them its Mora's fault for electing to offer him a scholly (probably based on his tape) rather than his ability to be a functional student/athlete. They ain't keen on hearing my wisdom :D

My two cents wroth.

1. Clark probably contacted scUM and MSU when he went home, not the other way around.
2. I'm willing to bet Clark contacted a lot of schools including those that were looking at him before his commitment to UCLA. Clark's visit list of NC, Pitt and UVA is probably because the other teams said, "Uh thanks for the call Chris, but were pretty full at TE right now". They don't want to touch him with a ten foot pole. Pitt, NC and UVA will take a 5 star anytime they can get one, regardless of the potential consequences.
3. What a wonderful story. Be careful of what you wish for Snake Oil Salesman. you might just get it.

I must agree with you. The Bruin fan that Dub's quoted, kind of proved what a shyster and scumbag Mora is. Who would contact, or take contact from, and entertain recruiting the number 1(???) tight end when you had the number 2(???) on-board?

You know two things :
  • Mora painted a picture for Clark when he had Jones aboard;
  • Jones left, not because he was afeard of Clark, but he saw demonstrated through actions what a bag'o'shite Mora really was!

I mean really, I ain't nothin' special, but I couldn't get out of bed and look at myself in the mirror in the morning if I lied to kids like that! I can't figure out what was worse, two timing Jones, two timing Clark, or making him promises that he never intended to fulfill!

I am so glad we have Brock Wright in the fold for '17, all ready! (Glad for Brock!)

visiting Pitt October 10th. The show goes on..

UCLA transfer Clark to visit Pitt | TribLIVE

Because he started the season at UCLA — he suited up only for the opener — he may have to sit out the 2016 season. But he said he expects to have three years of eligibility.
He said he will choose a new school “relatively fast, so I can settle down.”
“I don't want this turning into a big deal,” he said. “I'm supposed to be at a school already.”

Why wouldn't he have three years of eligibility? Frosh year, transfer/RS year, three years to play three at that point.

He will have 3 years... He has to complete 2 semesters at the new school before he's eligible. He can't enroll till Jan-16 so he's not eligible till Jan-17. So he doesn't play until 2017 as a redshirt sophomore.

So I was thinking that right. He will have to sit out this year and next.

that's exactly what I said:

Frosh year - UCLA 2015
Transfer/RS year - wherever he enrolls 2016
RS soph year begins 1st of three years to play three: RS soph 2017, RS junior 2018, RS senior 2019

Deciding between Pitt and Syracuse, if anyone still cares.

Caring, and following for entertainment purposes are two different things. I basically stopped caring about his recruitment once Jones was on board. At this point his recruitment has become a complete side show and it's humorous to follow. Either way it looks like we could end up facing him in the coming years since both are ACC, so we can look forward to crushing him on the field and end the saga.

Nothing against Pitt or 'Cuse but WOW...#1 TE in the country, some experts say. I bet he or his camp reached out to more than one high level programs and more than likely the response was...no thank you.

High attention, drama queen. "Thank you but we'll pass"...LOL

yeah he's a total head case. big-time talent though. Will he do anything at Pitt or Syracuse? Probably not.

I don't know why he ever decided on UCLA, considering they probably used the TE the absolute least out of every team in the P5 conferences.

Michigan under Harbaugh meanwhile has thrown to the TE like 8-9 times a game, which is tops in the P5, with TE's Jake Butt, Ian Bunting, Henry Poggi, Khalid Hill, and AJ Williams catching passes through the first 4 games.

I'd say every school that recruited him dodged a bullet on that one. Except for UCLA lol.

So he picks the only school with better guaranteed gametime weather than UCLA.

Maybe there is something to the weather talk we were having in the USC thread?

some info from a Bruins poster on r/cfb:

I don't see how this could have worked out better for us or worse for Mora, which is like the best of all possible scenarios. I would feel bad for the kid, but I can't because it has been so obvious for so long that he is as flaky as they come. I barely follow recruiting compared to most people on this board, and I knew that. If Jim Mora either didn't know it or didn't care and essentially chose him over Alize Jones, then that just makes me smile.

As far as Mora goes; cheap perfume says everything you need to know!

Someone asked a rather low-end streetwalker, without bringing attention to her choice of trades, why she wore such a garish perfume. It really stood out in the room, so to speak.

Without batting an eye she replied, "It comes with the territory. If you are gonna be a two-bit whore, you gotta pick somthin that covers it up. You know what I mean? This shit's strong enough, and you get used to it!"

Even though this deal with Chris Clark really stands out to us, I bet this really doesn't even bother Mora; he is probably used to it. He would probably say it comes with the territory!

Agree, the tell tale signs were every where. I wonder where his parents are in all of this and the guidance and advice they have been giving him? Or, maybe they haven't?!
