Bogs was out all Saturday at a rave. Picks up the Sunday paper off of someone's lawn on his morning walk of shame. Sees the headline showing Kizer's TD pass. Bogs jumps into the nearest shed. Result:

I think that is what Bogs is doing right now, there is a reason that he isn't online right now.

Seriously tho that 50 yard pass right on the money off his back foot to Fuller was extremely impressive. If he can be poised he can be a good QB.

Meh, Tommy used to make that throw all the time.

Seriously though, sick throw.

I think I'm just tired and a little unhinged but something about his physique and throwing motion remind me of Jameis Winston.

I don't think our offense is going to be great anymore with the loss of Folston and Malik gone, but this dude, as wacky as it looked, went 83 yards in 2 minutes on the road to win the game.

Sooooo, can this guy run? I know he's a decent athlete, but is he fast enough to run the zone option? I almost hope not just because I dont want to see any more QBs get hit. Highlight film anywhere? I know jack shit about Kizer other than I was glad to have him as a career backup. Welp. I bet Bogs is going to cum in his pants when he hears Kizer is starting. Thank God he turned down that D3 Ohio basketball offer!

Do we even want to run that stuff with him now? There is no margin for error now with only Winbush behind him and QB planning for future depending on him maintaining his redshirt. I'd just scrap all the designed QB runs in the playbook and see where we can get running a traditional offense.

Is Deshone's lady still battling her illness?

I'm rooting for this kid. Lot of heart in this guy. It's not been an easy road for him, but here's his shot. I always say that with QB's, they will always get an opportunity. This is his.

I for one am very pumped to see a Toledo kid run the show at Notre Dame for at least the next 11 games. This'll be really cool for the city. #KizerWinhelm

Last I saw the surgery was successful. She had some loss of ability with her left side I think, but was slowly regaining ability over time.

[EDIT] Seems like she's been doing pretty good: https://271miles.wordpress.com/

Ooooooopppppss!

Right. Let's pretend it was his talent that had him skyrocket up the depth chart and not 1 transfer, 1 injury, and 1 true frosh who isn't ready yet. I'm not wishing bad things for DeShone - quite the opposite - but I'm also not about to pretend that this is what anyone wanted or expected, including the coaching staff. He's in this position because of BAD luck. But let's celebrate that, right?

As discussed elsewhere, Wimbush can redshirt next season when he's back to #3 on the depth chart. If there are opportunities to get him reps this season as THE backup, he should get them.

I hope we either scrap it or go ahead full steam and let him run it. What I hope we don't do is what Auburn is doing with their QB (and Golson did) right now which is run the zone read but the QB never gets it. Ends up being just a slow developing hand off.

I don't think he's celebrating it at all. It just happens to be that Kizer is next man in and he'll be asked to win some games for us.

He is, but let's call a spade a spade. He was not arguing the literalness of my statement - which was to imply that DeShone would never be at the top of the depth chart due to anything short of catastrophe.

I kind of liked him scrambling and calmly finding Corey back over the middle.

My bottom line on Kizer - I think that if he can be more accurate than Zaire as a passer, the offense will be JUST FINE. At the end of the day, with the aforementioned assumed, the season's fate will be 100% up to BVG and the defense. But I thought that was the case coming into the season. The offense won't have a problem hanging 30-40 each week as long as Kizer can make the simple throws to extend drives.

Yeah, that was nice. Who knows, maybe with his size we'll be going over the middle of the field more to Robinson and the TEs.

Feel so bad for Malik, but I have the utmost confidence in DeShone and I could not be more excited to have our QB be from my hometown! Even though this is a tough blow to the team, I still have great confidence in them, and the main reason for that is because of a key offseason coaching upgrade that Kelly made to his staff. Mike Sanford is going to make this work and he is going to have DeShone ready to go come next Saturday. Hell, he was ready to go yesterday when called upon, and he delivered an epic final drive for all of us to celebrate! Keep your heads up. This season is only beginning, lots of guys will improve and surprise as the season starts to unfold!

Just because he wasn't at the top of the depth chart doesn't mean he isn't capable of leading this team to a successful season. It just means that there was someone better than him. For all we know Kizer is a 10-11 win QB where Zaire is a 11-12 win QB.

That play told me a lot. He could have gotten sacked or tried to run, but he stayed calm enough to find an open receiver. Then he finds Fuller. The more reps in practice and playing time will do nothing but help him.

He'll be just fine, so much talent around him and he is good...OL and receivers galore. Is going to have score a lot of points though. This defense, UGGGG. What else is new?

And as I THINK I've made clear in multiple posts, I hope to God you are right. I hope that this is a Cardale Jones situation. I just don't think that it is.

Ok. I will call a spade a spade. YOU were the one who said that Kizer would never be called upon to win a game at ND. That shows either serious hate for Kizer (which I don't think is the case) or an incredible ignorance of the unpredictable nature of college football. I wasn't "arguing" anything. My "ooooops", with a wink after it to denote that it wasn't meant to be a serious rebuke of any statement, was nothing more than an acknowledgement that the football gods are fickle and one never really knows what events might transpire to force a player into position to win or lose a game.

Relax, Kizer will be just fine.

Cardale needed a defense. That is our problem.

Dear God, man - are you under the impression that I was the one who pissed in your Cheerios? Get off it. NOTHING I stated suggests that I hate Kizer, nor does it suggest ignorance of the unpredictable nature of football. My comments were meant to mean that, given the depth charts and projected roster(s) of the team during Kizer's tenure, that he would never be at the top of it. That stands true. It took a transfer and an injury to get him where he is now. I'm not saying he can't be successful, I'm saying that if it weren't for those events, he would possibly still be #3 on the chart right now.
