when the cleat is firmly planted in the ground and there is then pressure on the lower leg, something has to give. The brace will hopefully apply pressure across parts of the leg in the hope of moving the entire leg, but if the cleat/foot in firmly planted and pressure is applied, somethings gotta give and the weakest point fails (knee).

Ah, that explains Folston's injury. From the video, it doesn't even look like anything should have happened, but I guess that cut before the tackle is what did it. Makes sense now that I think about it. I typically think of an injury like Jarron's when an ACL tear comes to mind.

Is signing up for tenyardtorrents the only way anybody has found to watch this without actually buying Showtime?

It appears that the site is at capacity and is not allowing anymore sign ups either.

I hope this is either a 1 season thing and they don't do this with any other college teams, or they only do it with Notre Dame. Gonna be a great recruiting tool

Given their usage of the hashtag #aseasonwith it stands to reason they hope it takes off and becomes a series with other schools and possibly other sports. Would you be surprised to see a Kentucky basketball?

Here's the official trailer. Shows the captaincy thing with Stanley around 50 seconds:

Could it be as simple as getting in trouble for drinking at a party at some point or something along those lines?

I'd imagine that if the captains have to go through a review, they have to be spotless, and anything big would have gotten out (like it usually does), so it has to be something almost meaningless, right?

Does anyone have a streaming link that is available to watch the series from Showtime?

FYI..this is STILL up

Somehow, it is not even listed on the guy's channel either or by searching

kudos to whomever uploaded it ninja style

Youtube typically gives you 3 options when uploading a video: public, private, and unlisted. Looks like this one was uploaded as unlisted, which means someone can send the link out to people, but it's not searchable from Google or Youtube by users. Hopefully the same person uploads the next episode for those of us without Showtime.

Absolutely heartbreaking that clip of everyone/BK talking with Malik. Going to be a real emotional episode.

Me too, I don't think its realistic to expect this team to get to where we thought it could go after losing as much as we have. However, hopefully they can come together and still get some quality wins.

Tonights episode will be a tough one.

I don't know. We lost Folston, whom I really like, but Prosise appears to be the real deal and the freshmen are pretty good, too. Zaire has only three starts under his belt, so he does not have a tremendous experience advantage over Kizer -- who looked much better than I thought coming in to beat Virginia (actually better than Malik). Although Malik can do some things better than Kizer, Kizer might do some things better than Malik can, too. I've adopted a wait and see attitude, and I think we'll know a lot more about DeShone Saturday night than we know right now. J.Jones may have been the toughest loss to overcome when it is all said and done, but Cage seems to be filling in nicely and we still have guys behind him with high ceilings.

I still think we have a chance to be a really, really good team, and I'm not ready to concede wins to anyone just yet -- Ga. Tech, USC, Clemson or anyone else. I think we still have the horses to beat anybody in the country if we hold it together and play focused, hard nose football.

Now, if we were to lose guys like Jaylon, Fuller, Stanley, KVR, or Day, I'd be singing another tune altogether. Those guys are absolutely critical and we can't afford to lose them. But, I think the loses to date are difficult but manageable, and we should not be lowering expectations just yet.

So glad I procrastinated and didn't order this. I do not want to see that episode, not sure I want to see any of it until I can binge it after the season. Too close to the situation for me. I've been waiting for this season for 2 years. I'm not someone who normally gets emotionally invested with players of any team I follow. This year, Team 127 was different as I have no choice to be otherwise.... and it really f'n sucks now.

But as always, next man in and Go Irish.

I hope I'm wrong but the margin for error is so small in order to win 11-12 regular season games. Losing as much as we have only narrows that margin. I don't want to be too negative but the guys we are losing were the starters for a reason. Zaire was the starting QB because he's better than Kizer. Otherwise Kizer would've been the starter. Same goes for Smythe, Folston, Jarron Jones, etc. Doesn't mean that the players stepping in for them can't be somewhat successful but to expect the same production is a little unrealistic considering those guys were the starters for a reason. I'd say that Prosise is the only one where he is actually adding something more to the offense with his big play ability. However, that doesn't make losing Folston a wash. This is week 3, Prosise has never taken 20+ shots/game for 12 games, who knows how he'll hold up.

Someone mentioned it earlier, but if you think injuries are devastating now,... hold onto your butts over the next month... odds are the hits wont stop coming.

And thats kind of my point. Losing Folston might not hurt now but what if Prosise has to miss a game or two (knock on wood). Then do we really feel just as good about Adams/Williams as we did Folston/Prosise?

Was Golson truly better than Malik for the entirety of last year? We don't really know. One guy was the starter and the other had to accept his role as backup. It took truly terrible play from Golson to prompt Kelly to make the switch.

All these kids have extreme talent, it's not like we are throwing Tommy out there for his first game (no disrespect to Rees). Montana was the backup, Cardale was third string last year. I know it's silly to make those comparisons but that's the great thing about CFB -- you just never know until they trot out on the field on Saturday.

I look at it this way --- if Malik was a 9/10 and Kizer is an 8.8/10, you can still get it done with Kizer. Hopefully the margin is that slim between the two.

I use the same logic when I go out on the weekends. If a 9/10 can get the job done, so can a 6/10.

No argument there. I think starting talent is still pretty good, but the limited depth is now a MAJOR concern.

You are more than welcome to operate this way but I don't view it as a realistic approach. A couple points I'd make is, you gave two examples of back up QB's coming in and being successful over 40ish years. Now there are probably more so I don't want to get into that discussion but its not very "likely" that all these injuries don't lead to decreased performance on the field. Thats just how it works.

Also, your entire post revolves around just the QB, we've also lost starters at other positions as well. Though it looks like Cage/Tillery are doing admirable, they aren't better than a healthy Jarron, and even if they turnout to be, eventually, not having that depth will hurt at some point. Smythe was/is head and shoulders better than Luatua. Thats why Smythe was giving up very few snaps to any other TE prior to his injury.
