This is a prime example of coaches taking away from a players potential. Kelly's quotes almost make it seem like well there is to much talent at WR so we are moving you to RB. That comes off to me as they aren't even giving him a shot or chance at WR. He looked pretty darn good in the Spring Game, physically he is more gifted than anyone of the WR's we have. I'm not saying throw the ball to him 10 times a game but damn give the kid a chance. He didn't even get any passes attempted to him last year. How about throwing the ball to him 2-3 times a game to start off and see what he can do with it. Maybe he will fail, or maybe he will take off you never know.

Regardless of who's connected or who knows what, there is a lot of info we're not privy to and why Brent hasn't broken through on the depth chart. One great catch in the spring doesn't make him a starter. He may still be dealing with BK's doghouse. Remember, BK mentioned something a few months back about Brent needing to focus more on football and less on having a good time.

Have you ever been right?

Brent asked Kelly for the move.

You always have such strong opinions about things you don't know d!ck about. Smdh.

I literally lol'd.

I love this move. Brent went head to head with a porn star. image what he can do when we need 2 yards for a first down. Dude will lay some wood.

Seriously though, I like it. nothing else maybe he can be that pass blocker Kelly dies for and be a short yardage/screen type back. He definitely looks the part.

Saw him play RB a few times when he was at Speedway. Tough, hard-nosed runner. I think he could pull it off

After seeing that clip awhile back of him working out in the weight room i was like...man he is going to be a force after he catches the ball or with down field blockingl. I really like this move and I like that he was the one self-advocating for the shot at RB.

not a fan of move. It'd be different if I didn't feel Chris Browns supposed great practicing ability didn't hold back ppl who could probably actually perform on the game day field.

However if he's truly the one that asked for the move, not really anything else to say but put those quick twitch legs to good use. Though I'm a huge fan of CJ move to rb, so not even sure how Bryant gets much if any pt at RB either. Maybe the whole go north/south talk is big body goal line opportunities

I like his attitude and motivation. He saw a sudden hole at RB and said "Hey, I can step up and help here." I'm sure he has his own reasons, wanting to get on the field of course, but you have to like the proactive response and asking for the move.

Justin Brent [despite my thinking that he's one of the most talented guys we have] has obviously [not my opinion but widespread stated] pissed coach off with whatever of his antics did so. He thereby "went into the doghouse." Coach therefore didn't think that he could trust him, and everything that I've seen about Kelly since seems to be a series of tests to try to find out if Brent wants to grow up or not.

Because it's true that we're loaded at receiver [Fuller, Robinson, Brown, Carlisle, and the emergence of Hunter, plus Kelly is now almost drooling over the idea of two, and even three TE sets], Brent MUST sense that he has to do something spectacular to get Coach wondering if he has decided to straighten up --- I like to believe that Justin has, but I also believe that Coach takes a lot of convincing.

So Justin comes into Kelly's office, and [humbly no doubt] says, Coach, now that Greg's not going to be here, I think that I could help the team at RB. This worked, as Coach not only allowed it, but spoke with a smile about the idea at the press conference. Whether this works out or not, i believe that Brent turned the corner with Kelly with this move.

Or JB thinks if there is one person he can fill in for to make him look mature, it GB.

If he plows between the the tackles and takes care of the ball, I really think he could be a star at returning punts

It takes a ton of talent to get on a high D1 roster.

For all but the true freaks, it takes a ton of work to beat out the other talented kids for significant playing time.

I don't think Brent is considered a "problem" kid in the strong sense of the word, I just think he is distracted and not putting in the work to separate himself.

Here is his opportunity. FSU had a converted safety that played a similar role in the backfield a couple years ago. It worked out well.

Procise and Brent seem like RBs to me. Don't think, JUST RUN!!!!!

Thank God, Swarbrick chose Kelly over you. I'm sure it was close...

Apparently the plan is to Redshirt Justin this season per Loy.

Love this plan. Don't see enough of smart redshirting after a freshman year.

Think so? You really need a certain type of player who's going to stick around for that fifth year. I'm not sure if Brent strikes me as the type.

Agreed. Whether they end up staying for a 5th year isn't insignificant at this time. Its at least a possibility. Imagine having Kona on the DL last year. Could have help a lot.

If they're going to RS him, it's obviously not so he can build his body. So I just hope for everyone's sake they're sticking him at a position and keeping him there. I suppose it's RB, but this now means maybe both Dexter/Adams play this year, so Brett is now going to be our 3rd RB in 2016 while graduating ahead of the 2 in front of him? Doesn't make sense to me. I wonder if there will be another position change for him?

Will Justin stay crosstraining at RB or do you think he could be converted to the other side of the ball? Is he able to change direction enough to be considered a safety? Or physical enough to be an "athletic linebacker" aka. a little lightweight but quick enough to make plays?

I'd actually be shocked if Brent doesn't move positions again. I imagine our frosh RBs will likely fill in behind Folston/Prosise and Tony Jones Jr (and a to-be-named recruit) will fill in behind them.

So where can Brent fit in this roster? Has to be defense right? Special teams coverage units?

I watched him play in high school and I felt he had the swagger/attitude to be able to play defense. Seemed to really enjoy hitting people. I'm not good enough at evaluation, but from first glance, I felt if he couldn't make it as a WR, plug him in at S all day. Hopefully that's the line of thinking. I don't understand the RS if they're going to keep him at RB.

And then they went and signed about 8 good WRs in the next two classes...

Exactly, if he wasn't going to play RB this year when our proven depth is pretty depleted it's probably not going to happen, and at WR the logjam is only getting bigger. If he can play safety (and would have ELITE ball skills for a safety) then great.
