If anyone needs to be scouting this kid ASAP it needs to be rivals and Josh Hemboldt. Criminally underrated by him.

My favorite player in the class so far. Reminds me of the last two A&M tackles that went in the top 10 in the draft.

Its pretty funny because Coach D at BGI is a very opinionated person/writer and he's let it be known on a few occasions that rivals rating of Eichenberg is crazy and he works for Rivals. Those comments over the months have become a bit more PC but they surely didn't start that way, lol.

Scout (VIDEO): Eichenberg Shines In Scrimmage Action

Notre Dame commit Liam Eichenberg was dominant Thursday night for Cleveland St. Ignatius in their scrimmage finale against Canton McKinley. Coming off knee surgery, Eichenberg was much improved in pass protection, while maintaining his run blocking strength. Here is film of Eichenberg in action in the scrimmage.

Liam is impressive and was downright oppressive. I particularly liked it when he picked the opponents up off of the ground after he steamrolled them!

Boy, does he look "thicker" than he used to!

And totally under control.

Iggy playing Mentor tonight. They are tied 56-56. My buddy is at the game and says Eichenberg is an absolute beast. Not a lot of tackling going on it would seem.

Sadly kind of a big deal. Eichenberg will likely be held out for about a month with mononucleosis.

Honestly one of those things that is better (from an ND perspective) he gets now. Might hurt his rankings but who cares as long as we're getting him

sucks, but better than an injury that could limit hinder him for the next 5 years. doubt he would have seen the field in his first two years regardless. we've got enough talent that he can take his time. important thing is he concentrates on getting healthy, not worrying about football.

He won't be playing as a true freshman anyways. I wouldn't worry about weight and conditioning. It just sucks he's going to have to miss time of his senior season.

Better this than a blown knee, which was my first thought when I started seeing activity in this thread.. May help him avoid injury and enter ND at 100%. He's already dominated at the HS level. I want him right for the next level.

With the recent events, I understand where you're coming from. That said, I hate thinking that way. Kids need to play as much as they can, you can't think about injuries... If they happens, well that's life man.
