scheduled to be here today....doesn't plan to make any type of commitment until his birthday in October. He did however add that he is set to take an official visit to Notre Dame for the Texas game on Sept. 5.

I wouldn't be surprised if this turns into a silent commit this weekend or the Texas weekend. Setting up the OV and making sure to get back to campus with dad makes me feel pretty confident.

Great stuff I agree. My biggest want for DB this year. Will still be shocked if he doesn't end up at Tenn or LSU.

I really hope this is the case. I really like Vaughn and it gives the staff a little breathing room as far as meeting the immediate needs in the class.

Just a couple factors here. Not to many kids who live that far away visit again so quick. Spots are filling up at DB with only 2 more spots left the staff could put the pressure on and I could see him popping if he truly wants to be here.

I cant think I havd ever asked this but can parents come on OVs? I guess on their own dime for sure but they wouldnt be too involved with the recruits "visit" I assume.

I like that pops is coming back so soon. I picture it as the kid coming back all excited and tells his dad "you gotta see it you gotta see it..." and his dad is all "alright lets go see it."

Yes parents come all the time however none of their expenses are covered

Parents are generally with other recruits parents as they like to have individual time with recruits but there is also time when group presentation with recruits and parents... Later at night the recruits hang out with players alone with other recruits

The article is an interview with his father. His dad loved the visit and he believes Donte loved it as well. Notre Dame seemed to have rolled out the red carpet.

“The whole experience left a lasting impression,” said Vaughn. “Each particular part made this whole visit great. Everything really stood out. It wasn’t like one particular thing. Every single thing went well. From facilities, to academic standards, to the campus, and just the overall experience at Notre Dame. It all played a tremendous role. It’s somewhere I’d love to see my son end up.”

Spoke to some folks connected to the program and things honestly couldn't have gone better this weekend. ND feels good about its shot with Vaughn and the Vaughns are loving ND right now.

Kinda disappointed that there isn't much film on this guy, but from what little there is of him at CB, he looks really damn impressive. Doesn't have elite speed by any means, but I'm sure his real 40 time is a lot better than 4.79. I'd say somewhere in the 4.6 range.

Difference is, Donte has at least a tenth the heart that that Ruettiger fellow does.
