Must be a young buck, I remember those Sabo lead Nasty Boys clearly... They had exactly zero chance to beat the As... None.
Yeah, I was born during their '90 run, so I guess technically I've seen a championship... I'd just like to see one I can appreciate and remember lol.
I was spoiled as a kid back in the days of the Big Red Machine. Going to Riverfront to see a game, followed by the annual trip to Kings Island was the highlight of my summers. I thought the Reds were going to win the WS every year. Little did I know they would only win one more in the next three decades thanks to Eric Davis, Sabo, and the Nasty Boys. Maybe I will live long enough to see them get another one. Cincy is a great baseball town.
It is a great baseball town, and the fans are generally pretty patient and level-headed when it comes to their Reds. However, lately, people are beginning to grow restless with the terribly thin roster that the ownership has built. For a relatively small-market team, Castellini and Jocketty have spent their money on some questionable contracts, especially when the team's biggest issue has always been a lack of serviceable depth players.
I was at the bars outside the stadium and eventually just part of the massive crowd watching on the big screen. It was electric. I'm officially a Reds fan now (after the Yankees of course).
Very cool, the Banks is a good area to hang out with a nice crowd and have some fun. It was already a cool, new area, but they've made some awesome upgrades due to the All Star game. Open-container laws finally being in effect helps too haha. I may be down there tonight during the All Star game if the weather holds off.
