Aren't most of those guys offed by "Order 66" or whatever?
I am beyond excited for Star Wars VII. The same goes for the anthology film in 2016, which I think is nearly as important. If they can make a war movie in the Star Wars universe do well (meaning no main characters or Jedi, just a war objective plot set in Star Wars), options are endless. (cough #buydisneystock)
1st bolded: I really hope it stays that way. Jedi and Sith are much cooler figures as being lone space wizards of a long lost religion with a feud that stretches back generations. Force-users should be things that others flip sh*t about when they are discovered. Kind of like dragons in GOT. They are NOT cool as bureaucrats.
2nd bolded: I'm both excited and sad as a Star Wars fan. Excited because I have no doubt that Disney will do things right for the immediate future. Sad because Disney is a profit machine, and they will never stop making these movies. I guarantee that the plan is to try and annualize these in the same way that they have the Marvel movies.
Which is fine on one hand, because more Star Wars. But on the other, it will be hard to explain to my kids how big of a deal/sacred Star Wars was/is when there are fifty movies in existence about every character/battle/plot worth hearing about.
There are, what, two movies being made currently and a director has already been chosen for a Han Solo spin-off? Geez, there comes a time where maybe its time to pump the brakes just a bit before we blow the universe wide open. I can't be the only guy who started off really excited about the Marvel universe, and is now sort of sick of them because of how Disney is CONSTANTLY churning them out. The idea of me experiencing the same with Star Wars makes me feel sort of queasy.
