2 things of note here.

1. He tweeted out Friday morning "I'm getting a pretty clear picture where I wanna play... I may commit earlier than I thought. Its really coming down to 2 schools.

2. On Sunday he started a fundraiser, with family and friends, to raise money for a trip to ND for our June camp with his team. Irish247 was able to confirm that its likely he makes that trip.

UM and OSU believe they are the two schools he was referring to in his first tweet but I gotta believe ND has at least a punchers chance if he's making this type of effort to visit.

How do we f-i/und the fundraiser? Or would that be considered impermissible benefits from boosters despite no true ND affiliation?

I'm not sure if I like him at WR, something bothers me watching his highlights. I think he could be a 5 star safety though.

He's stiff in his shoulders and hips in comparison to guys like Donnie Corley. However, Floyd and Terrell Owens were also guys that were fairly stiff players early on. Like Kelly stated when he got here Floyd had to work on his route running a lot and partly becuase of this. He wasn't very good getting in and out of breaks. I've watched some camp video of Ahmir over the spring and he seems to be working on that. If he's dedicated to playing WR its definitely something he can overcome with A+ athleticism and good hands. With all that said, I also think he could be a world beater at S. Not too many S's that size that can move like that. He's also very muscular for not even being a HS Senior yet.

Those interviews at camps are informative, but at the same time the kids are really put on the spot. Often times it's the players first time on camera in that setting, so schools are often left off.

But, at the same time you can get a judge of of body language when they talk about certain schools. Then you have other guys who have been prepped for the media and just simply don't give away anything.

I know there was one kid committed to another school interviewed by Rivals today that has Notre Dame very high on his list, but the interviewer didn't even know ND was recruiting the hell out of him and failed to mention it. So, the kid didn't bring it up and got away with one.

He stated osu and Michigan are def his top 2

ND running third here with a visit this month coming up. He isn't a take right now for OSU so this could be a Harbaugh vs Kelly battle. What a nice problem to have at Ohio State. Turn away Josh King, Auston Roberston and now Amir Mitchell. Those guys would be class changers for ND at the moment.

"It kind has got a little crazy with Michigan and Ohio State. Those two are basically are the top two schools, and they are constantly switching," Mitchell said. "Notre Dame is probably running third with them battling back and forth with Virginia Tech." - See more at: https://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1773568#sthash.pModp6ui.dpuf

"That [visit] is what is going to determine if they go up or stay where they are at right now," Mitchell said. "Going on the visit, being able to see the state, you know have a kind of bond with the coaches, see how you gel with the coaches in-person face-to-face … Being able to talk to the players, get there input and things like that." - See more at: https://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1773568#sthash.pModp6ui.dpuf

he visits for a three-day camp

"I talk all the time with [area recruiting Scott] Booker and [head coach] Brian Kelly," Mitchell said. "It has a great degree. They got a Jersey guy coming in with Brandon Wimbush, who you know is a stellar athlete at the position. They got a great quarterback now. So the quarterback position is great, which is good in my eyes. They are in need wide receivers right now, so coming in I think I would be able to play early [with] me being an early enrollee. So that's why Notre Dame is high on my radar." - See more at: https://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1773568#sthash.pModp6ui.dpuf

Does he follow Notre Dame? I would think this would be why we are lower on the radar.

brown is gone, fuller-possibly if great season gone, procise-gone, amir-gone....after that crob-completely different player, brent/holmes/Hunter--all unproven and then a mirage of boykin/esb-again different player and just arrived....jalen/sanders-just arrived

A TON of bodies but not much in proven worth

Fair points, but Prosise does have an extra year of eligibility after this season.

I agree with your assessment that they are unproven, but I guess to me, when someone says we are in need I think of situations like our DBs. We are in need of bodies there.

Pretty cool edit that ND did for Ahmir Mitchell. Not sure how to embed but if somebody has the time, it'd be appreciated.

I was thinking the same thing that Floyd would've made some sense. Also, I think he and Ahmir are very similar WR's. Can't rep ya but thanks. Hopefully we can make a run at UM with this weekends visit.

At ND for 4 days. Hopefully we can make up some ground here because this kid is a big difference maker in my opinion.

Any word on how is visit is going or has gone or do we have to wait until he leaves. I know he was supposed to be on campus for 4 days.

No word yet, maybe heard like 5 kids say ND was ok so I am sure he had a great time. He was tweeting out a couple good things earlier in the week.
