The IE main page has him listed as 6'10". Probably doesn't run with good pad level.

“The practice layout was also impressive. They kept to a schedule and there was not any wasted time during practice. The running backs were getting quality reps, but also a lot of reps. The offensive line was extremely attractive. Notre Dame has so many young offensive linemen that they will be there with Tony.”
For Jones, he felt his son would like Notre Dame, but wondered if his son would sacrifice the warm weather and close distance to home to attend Notre Dame.
“A couple things Tony was worried about was the weather and they told him about the weather situation,” stated Jones Sr. “They get the players coats and hats, so he was cool with that. The biggest thing is even more than the degree, is the help they provide academically. Tony can get a tutor for every class and he will be set even if he doesn’t play a down after college. He knew the weather and being away from home would be a sacrifice, but once he saw some of the running backs that had success there, it was worth the sacrifice.”

First off, the "coats and hats" thing reminded me immediately of Kory Minor. Second, love the way we are presenting the academic side of the program to recruits.

Jones has that in his repertoire as well along with many other skills. He blocks well. He can catch the ball out of the backfield. He really has the tools to be a three down back at Notre Dame.

(For more on him you can check out my scouting report)

I understand that there are some questions about Jones and what kind of player he'll grow into for the Irish. How big is he going to get? If he gets too big, can he maintain that same kind of lateral agility he shows right now? Is he ever going to have enough speed to hit homeruns or is the best ND fans can hope for a bunch of doubles?

These will all have to be answered over the next few years, but what I see from Jones now has me excited for what he can do. He is a different back than any of the other backs the Irish will have on their roster in 2015 and I think that's a great thing that sets him apart from the guys he will be competing with.

Dang, that truck stick at 1:39.

Btw can a mod fix his info on the front page? While a 6'10" RB would be wild to see, I don't think it would be prudent to accept a commitment from one.

I had a chance to meet Tony and his father at the B&G game today. He seems like a real humble kid. His dad won a championship in arena football, Tony Jr. also plays baseball and is currently batting .500 per his father as he showed my dad and I his stats on his cell phone.

Very cool. Did he say anything about playing baseball for the Irish.

.500 average doesn't sound too good if he wants to play for ND baseball.

I've seen it tweeted a couple times he plans on playing baseball as well. He tweeted a pic of himself and Aoki before the baseball game tonight.

Best players I ever played with or against only hit .425 in high school. I'd say Brian McCann - Yankees - and Brandon Moss - Indians - are doing ok. Florida also has some legit baseball being played so he is certainly good enough at the plate.
