Honestly, the committee must've purposely made things as difficult as possible for ND (and Kentucky for that matter). Simply put, we need to win these first two games. After that, we can take a Sweet 16 appearance as a great season. Anything beyond that is icing on the cake.

I was gonna say that. If we get to elight eight and we are all complaining about that? come on and even if we get to sweet sixteen we should all not be complaining tahts a great season and best since 2003

As much as everyone is complaining about what we got most of the analysts are having us go to elight eight so if that happens that would be an amazing season and an amazing game against Kentucky

No one has really talked about Northeastern yet. Looking at their roster, they are a very small team (their tallest player is 6'8"). They have 3 players that average double figures in scoring: Scott Eatherton (14.6 ppg), David Walker (13.4 ppg), and Quincy Ford (10.4 ppg). Their best win seems to be a 3 point win against Florida State

Lunardi missed on a number of teams. He had IU and LSU out but both are in with #10 & #9 seeds so they weren't close to being out.

If ND gets to UK, they'll beat them, I called it a month ago, and I'm sticking to it...

Every time this committee chair is interviewed he makes less sense. What a douche nozzle.

If we advance, I am scared to death of Texas. Moreso than Butler. That is the really bad part of the draw. Worry about Kentucky if and when the time comes.

Living in Indy, I've been able to watch almost all of their games. They are the type of team that other teams have a hard time playing if they don't see them all the time. They had some injuries late in the year but are healthy now. They also lost their coach at the start of the season, bit didn't let that effect them. They are a typical tough minded Butler team. They won't lose focus or get rattled. Dunham can shoot like Steve Alford. Roosevelt Jones is the most unorthodox offensive player you will ever see, but he knows how to score against the bigger players. Kameron Woods is a skinny rail that averages at 13-14 rebounds a game. Barlow is just a solid PG. Nothing fancy or quick, but knows how to run the team. If this game occurs, it will be interesting to see if the Irish can play their tempo. Butler typically keeps teams well under their average.

I see ND winning, but it will be like pulling teeth.

I saw Nova play Butler twice this year. They don't get rattled. They are legit.

Texas really would be a tough matchup but they are like an inconsistent version of UNC. Butler would be very interesting as we don't get to play them in the Crossroads tourney ever. I would be nervous if this was your typical ND team but they just beat Duke and UNC back to back and are at an all time high in confidence. Jerian and Pat will will this team to the next weekend.

IF they play Kentucky, that is going to be really entertaining. Yes they are an incredible team, but Kentucky has not played anyone close to as efficient as us on offense. We would essentially use the Okafor/UNC strategy and concede the interior but then one of their centers would have to guard Pat on the perimeter. We saw how that worked out for UNC. I wouldn't expect a win but it would be a hell of a matchup.

In normal cases, ND has proven to be dreadful in tournaments because simply put, their "magic" doesn't follow them outside of the JACC. This eventually comes to fruition in the tournament. That isn't the case with this team. They've proven that they can win on the road consistently. Beating Louisville @ KFC what dumbass came up with this name Center, UNC in Chapel Hill and then Duke and UNC again in essentially their backyard.

I have no problem with being a 3 seed, but that region? Come on man. Still feel good about getting to the Sweet 16 though. Their confidence should be soaring!

Saw Butler play Marquette this season, if that Butler team shows up they would get throttled by this ND team. Think Zach could have a field day.

Most teams are either in awe of making the tourney and get smoked, or they see the NCAA as a new beginning, a reason to ratchet it up a notch and focus more. Butler is the latter. I won't keep harping on Butler, but they do not let you play your game. Defense and avoiding TO's in the tournament are the biggest keys and they do both very well. Butler has a long history of beating ranked teams, long before their two back to back NCAACG appearances. Like I said, I'm not saying they will beat Texas or ND, but it won't surprise me if they do. It's their DNA. Shut down Dunham and Jones and you should win.

ND isn't going to see Kentucky...

Cincinnati is going to end UK's run.*

*and by "end UK's run," I mean "probably lose to Purdue before they get there"

I hate being in the Kentucky bracket we have to get to the Elite Eight before that matters. Wichita State is horribly under seeded but playing them or Kansas isn't much of a difference IMO. Kansas has a rougher run at Sweet Sixteen than we do through Texas/Butler winner.

Duke can suck it. They are completely protected in their bracket. They will need it too. As the lowest 1 seed, why aren't they lined up to play KY in the Final Four instead of the CG?

Gonzaga has played nine games against tourney teams, including three against BYU, UCLA who shouldn't be in the field and AQ Texas Southern. They are 7-2 against that slate. Way too much credit for taking AZ to OT in early December.
