I'm in the market to buy a new pair of earbuds since my Apple ones keep breaking. I use them every single day so I am looking to spend about $20-$30 for a decent pair with good quality and bass.

Any suggestions/recommendations?

I use skull candy ear buds, cheep and durable.

I was just reading reviews on Amazon and they weren't all that great, made me a little nervous. Thanks for the recommendation. Might have to try them.

Earbuds & Earphones | Skullcandy

I've had no problems with my Apple earbuds, but I keep them at work at my desk, so they don't go through normal wear-and-tear.

I bought a pair of Skull Candy to wear at home/working in the yard. They've been fantastic, though the pair I bought were the 50/50's, which run at $50. I got them from the store rather than the website, though, so I would recommend checking for them if your store has a good selection. I got mine for well below the $50 online price when I got them in-store.

EDIT: To add information, I listen to a lot of hip-hop, and Skull Candy were the only ones I tried that I was satisfied with in terms of sound quality and bass.

I can tell you that I have never had any problems with them.

For the price, as others have said Skull Candy are great. I believe they also have lifetime warranties on their products as well.

JBL are also very good. They won't be as loud, but they are the clearest out there. That's what JBL is all about, which is why they are a favorite among DJs since the sound is top notch.

I don't know if you have a Ross / Marshall's / TJ Maxx in your area but I'd take a walk through there and look at earphones. I bought a pair of Panasonic Drop 360's for $14.95 for a back up pair to my since returned Beats Tour's. The Panasonic's have a better sound and fit my ear better. They are $99 on Panasonic's website. I bought another pair a few months ago to keep in my carry-on.

Thanks for all the help guys. I ended up buying the 50/50's for $30 on Amazon. All this talk about sitting outside the ear canal worries me a bit because I do like how my Apple ones sit on the outside but they do seem to come out pretty easily (no way I could ever run with them in). I guess I'll give these a try.

JBL is an awesome brand. I totally forgot to look at them.

Skull Candy usually includes multiple sizes for the rubber tops, I believe, so you can adjust as you like.
They're also poorly marked when you're trying to figure out "left" and "right," especially in the dark. I usually replace mine two pairs at a time, one pair with white tips and the other pair with black tips. Then, mix and match the tips so that the left ear is white and the right ear is black.

I hate regular earbuds. I can never keep them in my ears. I use over the ear ones:

shopping

Not this exact brand (forget which one for sure) but I prefer those

its a gonna be a shitshow when there is damn near an entire generation with tinnitus due to these things.
please be careful not to play earphones real loud.

trust me when I tell you, you do NOT want to get tinnitus (ringin, sometimes hissing in your ears).

never goes away and there is no cure

Had it for years...and never used to listen often through headphones or to very loud music or went to many concerts

Suggestions for iPhone users who run on a treadmill? I get tired of taping my Apple earbuds to my ears so they don't fall out. I'm also annoyed with holding my iPhone in my hand due to cord length.

I'm currently in a couch to 5k program. Would also like some recommendations on running shoes for flat footed folks with no arch. Don't yell at me for introducing a new topic!

I'd go with a bicep band to put your phone in. I don't know the exact name of them. And over the ear headphones to keep the earbuds in.

Sorry can't help with the shoes.

The bicep band like someone said before is your best bet.

Something like these would be what you want.

For $30, why not just get another set of Apple Earpods:

Apple Earpods with Remote Mic | Verizon Wireless

Do not like the Apple earbuds at all. Never stay in place.

Years ago a salesman at a stereo store told me to buy what I like, don't buy the name. I was looking for some headphones (years before buds came out). He took me into their stereo room turned me around and played the same song for a good comparison while putting several different headsets on me without me ever knowing what brand I was listening to. I ended up picking the $10 model over Sony, JBL and a couple of others that cost around $100.

He obviously was not working on commission. Lol. Thanks for the insight though.
