Why do you hate Oregon so much? I think they're neat to watch, and agree with the event-of-my-enemy thing, but generally don't care one way or the other about them.

I spent 12 years living in Portland. The Duck fans are fvcking obnoxious! And Oregon is ALL about style over substance. From the outrageous uniforms, to the personalized comic books for recruits (which were determined to be a violation of recruiting rules, so they stopped them), to Mike Belotti writing a letter to a judge requesting that the judge reduce a recruit's conviction from a felony to a misdemeanor so that he could sign the kid, to the complete jobbing of Oklahoma in Autzen stadium, by a replay official from the state of Oregon, to kids driving a car rented by an athletic department staffer at over 100 miles an hour on the freeway and admitting to having had marijuana in the car, there are plenty of reasons to hate Oregon.

Oregon is the fvcking anti-Christ of college football, and you should NEVER root for them, unless they are playing against Beelzebub himself!

Why do u feel this way?

Because of stuff like this:

Blessed to receive my 19th offer from The University of Nike✔️ The Oregon Ducks
— KANAI™ (@calebkkelly) January 9, 2015

Oregon -- not the SEC -- is the single biggest driver towards commercialization and semi-pro ball out there. Everything about that schools is what's wrong with college football. Paying players, breaking rules, facilities arms race to the Nth degree, new uniform each week, commercialization, the emphasis of "swag" over all, terrible academics, insulation of college athletes, playing loose with the law and athlete discipline, etc.

With that being said, I also just cannot bring my self to root for Ohio State soooo......

Is losing to a six loss Virginia Tech team a function of how good they are? Or is that early season scrimmage stuff that doesn't really count?

No one is allowed to have a bad game, right? Especially with a RS Freshman QB in his second start, and an offensive line with 4 new starters in their second game playing together?

I'm not trying to say that Ohio State is up there with the '66 Irish team, but they earned their way into the playoffs.

So TCU losing AT Baylor in mid October is worse? Or Baylor's loss AT WVU the week after beating TCU (obvious let down/trap game). Buckeyes lost AT HOME to a six loss team. They get a back seat to Baylor AND TCU in my book and it isn't even close. They were handed a gift by the establishment that obviously demands conference championship games to do half their work for them.

But hey, let's reward SEC style scheduling and put the Buckeyes in the playoffs.

No correlation to increased injuries and playing Navy? Or their one loss came the week after Navy? Let's not fall over ourselves here, Bama is the only top 10 team they played this year, their schedule sucks (largely due to Big Ten sucking).

I will give them credit for playing their best ball when it mattered in the Big Ten championship game and against Bama. I don't think they stand up as well to Oregon with less time to prepare. When is the last time this team played two respectable opponents in the same month, let alone season? I'll be watching, but rooting for Oregon. Lesser of two evils, IMO.

There's definitely a correlation to how teams are 1) banged up after playing Navy and 2) usually lose or have close wins after playing Navy. But that's not the direction of the interview.

And if I'm reading this correctly, OSU had a better SOS than TCU and Baylor and only slightly worse than Oregon. The Big Ten was thought to be horrible early on, but as the season wore on and especially in bowl games, they proved to have some pretty decent teams (OSU over Bama, MSU over Baylor, Wisconsin over Auburn).

You can hate OSU all you want, but Meyer dealt with some key injuries and got results most coaches wouldn't have been able to. All I'm discussing is how ND can improve on dealing with injuries themselves (given the last two years have been insane on that front).

I'll be rooting for the Ducks simply because OSU is a major regional recruiting rival for ND. They're both football factories, so I don't see much moral daylight between them.

I don't understand. You are upset about the schedule that Ohio State played, but you are ok with TCU playing DI-AA Samford, or Baylor's non-conference slate of SMU, Northwestern State, and Buffalo?

Meyer is a great coach, no question. That doesn't mean his team gets a pass for losses to crappy teams.

Big Ten is so tough they finished 5-5 in bowls so far. Better than expected really amounts to not being a completely worthless pile of garbage. Their mid level teams mostly got owned.

Illinois lost 35-18 to La Tech to finish with a losing record.
Nebraska, respectable loss to USC 45-42
Rutgers respectable win over North Carolina 40-21
Penn State over BC 31-30
Maryland pasted by Stanford 45-21
Minnesota loses to Mizzou 33-17
Iowa housed by a crappy Tennessee team 45-28

Michigan State needed 21 fourth quarter points - and shut Baylor out of the fourth quarter to win 42-41

Wisconsin nice win over an overrated Auburn squad in OT 34-31

OSU very nice win over Alabama, although I argue the entire SEC was overrated and Bama should have been #3.

Fair point.

They can all only play who is on the schedule. Losing to a crappy team should carry a lot more weight than losing to a good team. I think TCU's complete annihilation of Ole Miss was a message that they absolutely belonged in the playoffs.

Go ahead and root for the OSU bigots. Them and Michigan are peers when it comes to anti-Notre Dame history.

I heard that the tweet's context was that he studied really hard for a test and got a B, and was frustrated with that result, so I'm not sure if I believe that it's as big an insult to OSU as it seems.

I don't know how you can contextualize "classes are pointless." But, okay. He may be a good kid. I don't want to be remembered for my 140 dumbest characters.

Like I said...... I spent 12 years in Portland. I grew up in Canton, OH, and lived in Columbus from 2011-2014. Trust me.......... the state of Oregon is WAY more anti-ND than the state of Ohio, or even the city of Columbus.

WR Golden Tate (ND), OG Zack Martin (ND), P Kevin Huber (Cincinnati), OT Joe Staley (Central Michigan) & C Jason Kelce (Cincinnati).

EDIT: And now I see LB Connor Barwin (Cincinnati), so one of these 6 [4 really] wasn't coached up by BK, hmmm....

[Golden Tate] didn't play for him

Dur! And that solves that. So the five are:

OG Zack Martin (ND), P Kevin Huber (Cincinnati), OT Joe Staley (Central Michigan), C Jason Kelce (Cincinnati) & LB Connor Barwin (Cincinnati).

In other words, Notre Dame has two Pro Bowlers, or one less than Cincinnati... probably not the greatest thing to brag about.

it's talking about our COACH, not ND....
Headline: How We Stack Up

C'mon, this is obviously a recruiting tweet meant to get the kiddos excited. It's not 100% dishonest but they knew the spin they were putting on it.
