Is Jim Mora the biggest clown in CFB?

This is a classic case of a coach/team trying to hard to make themselves relevant. I have never, ever heard a negative or bad thing about Coach Snyder.

In fact, a recent example of the type of guy he is: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf...letter-from-bill-snyder--video-130717256.html

Mora is a clown and I've said for the longest time that he will be out of UCLA as fast as he can and be back in the NFL. Its not difficult to rise above the situation and give a dude a handshake. Gather facts first before you accuse. UCLA is full of clowns and I was thinking as much as I was watching the game.

Agree about Snyder, even as a KU fan. I know people who know him...they all say he's 100% as classy as he seems.

I would take Bill Snyder's word over Mora's a million out of a million times. This was in the link I posted:

Kansas State coach Bill Snyder sent West Virginia quarterback Clint Trickett a note after their game in Morgantown, W.Va.

The Wildcats beat the Mountaineers 26-20 on Nov. 20, and Trickett had to be replaced by backup Skyler Howard after Trickett suffered a concussion. On Tuesday, Trickett posted a picture of a note he received from Snyder about the game and the injury.

This was honestly one of my goals for this season and game. Coach Snyder is the epitome of college football coaches! pic.twitter.com/AGmw1SCpX1
— Clint Trickett (@CJTrickett9) December 2, 2014
Snyder sends notes to players after noteworthy games, including to Texas Tech's Jace Amaro last season and to North Dakota State quarterback Brock Jensen after the Bison beat the Wildcats in 2013.

The notes are great gestures, and they all have a common theme – Snyder's writing format. As you can see in Trickett's picture, Snyder writes diagonally on the paper rather than horizontally. Given his meticulousness, there has to be a reason for it.

Yeah...a classless coach alright. Again, UCLA is full of clowns trying to hard to be relevant.

That's fair.

I can just see why Mora might have been upset.

The whole thing is a faux. I'm sure, assuming Mora stays at UCLA this year, he will try to use it as a recruiting tool but bad mouthing a coach like Bill Snyder can and most likely will back fire privately. The coaching circle is a tight knit group and word gets around fast within the circle.

That's possible. Don't take any of this as a defense of Mora as a person. In this instance only, I can see how lots of coaches might be upset. There are other, much better reasons to think Mora is a scoundrel.

The difference here is that most of Mora's previous douchebaggery could be attributed to an overwhelming desire to win. All of his other shenanigans could be "explained away" as the result of someone trying too hard to achieve a competitive advantage on the field. And that's something that most people can understand. We don't excuse him for it, but we can at least understand how the motivation to succeed could lead to temptations.

This had nothing to do with competitive advantage, or winning. This was a douchebag coach who was upset that the other coach didn't "openly" admit to the douchebag's dominance by telling his players to give up. THAT is a personality issue, and it speaks to Mora's character and integrity. He took a simple courtesy and turned it into a farce. Hell, Bo shook Woody's hand after the infamous "They wouldn't let me go for 3!" game. It's poor sportsmanship in an age when people are trying to reintroduce sportsmanship to the players on the field. If the UCLA AD had hair one on his balls, he would strongly discipline Mora for acting like an assclown.

People love quoting Kautilya, but he is simply WRONG:

Nah. There was a linebacker flying over the pile toward a QB who had given himself up. That is legitimately an injury issue. We'd be pissed if another team did it to us.

UCLA was in error to try the "victory" formation. KS was down by 5 points, had no time outs and had a legitimate reason to attack the ball. There is a reason the game lasts 60 minutes. The "victory" formation should be done when you are up two scores, the game is unwinable for the defense and you can run out the clock. Mora was wrong to call for this formation. And his reaction was ill conceived and wrong. Just because he wanted the game over didn't mean that Kansas State and Coach Snyder wanted it over. What if the QB fumbled? Should KS just stand there and watch?
Mora is and has always been an -------.
He needs to schedule an hemorrhoid operation so he would be a perfect -------.

This doesn't make any sense. You call for the victory formation when you have the opportunity to win the game without giving the ball back to the other team. Mora was absolutely right in calling for it.

I do agree his reaction was ill-conceived and wrong though. You can't expect the defense to stop playing down one score. If it's a three TD game with basically no time left, then his reaction would have been justified.

Exactly. That's precisely the time when you call the victory formation.

I don't think Mora was right to shake hands the way he did. Classless, particularly with a guy like Snyder. Have a conversation with Snyder and let him know that you didn't like how the LB lept over the pile. But I don't think he was completely out of line to be concerned for player safety. I still think people would have reacted differently if it had been a team sending guys after Golson/Zaire in the same way.

I liked Mora for his energy, and obvious love for the game and his kids...but after today...he's just a clown to me...

according to this link: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/ucla-s-jim-mora-blows-off-postgame-handshake-with-k-state-s-bill-snyder--video-061729644.html

Mora was a COMPLETE Asshat to Snyder... And that I don't like. He could have leaned over and said something in his ear like..."hey love what you do, but not fond of the way this thing closed out"...or something along those lines...but to act like he did...forever on the douche list in my book...

Right, this is what it boils down to. He could've been a man about it or at least respectful, but instead he chose to be a total asshole. He could've chosen to either:
1) Lean in and say what he had to say to Snyder
2) Made public comments after the game saying he didn't like how the game ended.

Instead, he took the chicken shit route. Passive-aggressive handshake, and then run from the action... and then backtrack and make a tweet about how he was "defending player safety" with his actions that you just denied doing while speaking with the press moments before.

Like I said, his players were cheapshotting/taunting KSU players all game... and then they give some back playing to the whistle and he's going to grandstand about "protecting player safety"?

It's just a total joke. He's a little bitch. He also flipped out about people asking him about KSU's comeback.

I agree with all of that. My ONLY point is, after watching the video, I can see where many coaches would have been upset. But he handled it very poorly, especially with a class act like Snyder.
