Florida State player says players' cars were keyed, tires slashed - CBSSports.com

After 29 consecutive victories and a national championship, would Florida State fans really be so angry over their team's College Football Playoff elimination Thursday that they would take out their frustrations on the players' cars?

According to the Twitter account of Seminole freshman linebacker Anthony Valdes, that answer is a surprising yes. Here's a series of Friday tweets from Valdes:

Anthony Valdes @AnthonyValdes33
People actually keyd our cars and slashed our tires
8:12 PM - 2 Jan 2015

Anthony Valdes @AnthonyValdes33
Smh go 29-0 but lose one game and people don't know how to act

I don't find surprising that losing FSU fans might deface the players cars in anger. What I find surprising about this story is about the "players cars".

I realize that FSU fans probably know where the players park at Doak Campbell so they could find their cars to do ill if they were inclined. But this game was played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA 2,250 miles from Doak Campbell. Who knew where the players park there?

Even more intriging what player from drives to Pasadena from Tallahassee? Most teams fly together even if travelling separately they stay at the TEAM hotel, each TEAM meals, and travel together.

Besides Anthony Valdes home of record isn't in Southern Califronia but Royal Palm Beach, FL.

Do Rose Bowl players get perked rides for game week?

My interpretation was that FSU players cars had been left in Tallahassee on campus, keyed after the game, and the players came to find their property damaged when they arrived back from California.

This is the strangest post I've ever seen. There are about a handful of truly asinine assumptions in just a few hundred words....

I never thought I'd feel bad for the 'Noles, but man that's some low stuff from entitled, classless fans. What do these idiots think? That the players tried to lose? That they are happy with the situation? Yeesh.

The players probably did it themselves. They probably went looking for the cars of some fans or students who were booing them off the field and then didn't realize they keyed their own cars in their rage. They just can't help but break the law.

Hearing Jameis and Darby may have raped a car too.

I wonder if he was posting comments from the article, and not his words?

BGIF has a reservoir of knowledge about the history ND football which I always appreciate, but many of his posts that aren't just straight encyclopedia-style information leave me scratching my head.

Makes sense as Valdes tweets are dated the day after the game.

This is the funniest thing I've ever read.

I think BGIF just had a brain fart. Good to see that the HAL is human after all.

I would have assumed you guys would have been going ape shit at how shitty FSU fans are...

FSU and their fans deserve each other. Of course it was stupid and shitty. But it couldn't have happened to a nicer group of individuals.

Car Tires Slashed at FSU's Moore Athletic Center Parking Lot

FSUPD is reporting that it took two reports of slashed tires in the Moore Athletic parking lot around 9:20 pm last night, January 2. Both victims were Florida State University employees and each had a car tire slashed.

FSUPD also reports that two unidentified football players may have also had their cars keyed, but neither had come forward to report any damage as of last night.

The officers investigating at the time could not determine a time frame of when the vehicles were damaged, and it is unclear if the damage occurred before or after the Rose Bowl Game.

Every fan base has their horrible horrible people. I know so many good FSU graduates who are good fans, I tend to just write off stuff like this. But, man, it's terrible.

That's not the kind of thing you report, when you are driving a car that is registered to a dealership that is owned by a prominent booster.

OK, OK. I know that I should know (drawn) butter, but ...

I hope that the perpetrators get pinched.

Do the players have a "keying" claws in their insurance policy?

Don't things like this just make you boiling mad?

Something about a pot calling a kettle black.

Enough. My head hurts. I think I need another beer.

So really we don't even know if a players card was damaged just that they heard two cars had damage. The reporting, campus police and FSU are a train wreck.
