That seems to be the trend in todays uniforms IMO. I still enjoy SOME of the new unis schools are doing but they are getting more ridiculous by the minuet.

Some of the things Oregon does are pretty cool, but most of the time it's totally unnecessary. I have always thought less was more with uniforms; ND, Bama, Penn State, etc.

I guess I'm more in the middle then. I like the updates of the old uniforms if that makes any sense.

Yes that would be a good example.

I also like Arkansas, San Diego State and I like the new West Virginia uniforms. With WVU its something new but its not too much if you know what I mean.

Really hard to complain too much when the Unis look as sweet as those all silver ones do :)

From an aesthetic perspective, I like them way better than the nonsense they wear the rest of the year, but they don't exactly represent the program or the university.

I do think they look good. I just don't get why you would want your team to be wearing something that can't instantly be associated with your university when people watch highlights of this game in ten years. If Oregon wins, every picture is going to feature a player in a silver and white uniform. Just stupid.

Nike is paying Oregon $600,000 in cash and $2.2 million in an equipment allowance this year. Ohio State's contract calls for $1.5 million in cash and $2.5 million in equipment from Nike.

That sure reads odd to me. I know the math of the market demographics dictate this but it's just odd to see Phil paying someone else 2.5x more cash than Oregon.

I wonder what the splits are with Texas, Bama and LSU (?)

*then again... I'm sure his yearly "donations" would make all but Gates and Buffett blush.

Because Oregon fans will be extinct in ten years?

Cracks me up how big the shoulder pads were in those days...my days.

I remember too...I was 8 about to turn 9 when that cover hit...and to tie into freezageddon...that was about a month and a half before the blizzard of 1978
