Really makes me wonder about BK

Urban Liar has developed not one, not two but three quarterbacks to play at a caliber to beat a top 15 teams handily yet BK cant even get a single backup truly ready to play. If that wasnt the case, BK would not have hesitated to put in Malik when Golson was the more infamous version of Turnover Tommy this season. The fact that he didnt says to me that in two years, BK hasnt gotten a single backup ready to play.

The more I think about it, the less I am on the BK bandwagon. Better recruited talent than 90% of the schools out there and cant develop a soul.

Agreed bruh, but this doesn't need to be a thread.

BK on day 1826 is still looking for a QB
Urban after a week has his 3rd string QB winning a Big Ten title

They run the damn ball. But they lose to non big ten teams so there's that.

Ohio State would beat Va Tech by 80 if they played today. Urban has lost 4 games at OSU in three years. Guy does whatever he wants, whenever he wants with 3rd string QB's

He's only played about six teams worth a shit, though.

Meyer is an elite coach.

Brian Kelly is not.

That simple

There's other factors too, OSU has literally lost no one but Barrett and Miller and played no one aside from an over ranked MSU. I think they are an elite team but I'm not judging them until they play a good OOC team.

They did lose Noah Spence, but yeah, they've been pretty healthy outside of the QB. Maybe they have a legit S/C coach? It couldn't be...

Urban Meyer has all the trust in the world in Mickey and he is widely known as one of the best SC in the country. I know you hate Longo but why do you hate him so much?

I just think our athletes come in and stay about the same. There's not a lot of physical development and no one turns into a freak. And our defense is almost always slow as shit. We lose a starter and all of a sudden we're fucked. Not a lot of overall team strength. More than anything, it's special teams, which is where just about every single player has a chance to make an impact. Have you EVER watched our special teams and thought "Wow, they're athletic"? It's the opposite. You're probably like "why is that team's special teams running circles around us?"

I agree but I don't think you can but the speed of the team on Longo. We just don't recruit a lot of fast players. When you recruit guys like Drue Tranquill and Austin Collinsworth to play safety and bench Elijah Shumate and Max Redfield because the coaches couldn't get them ready to play. I think Longo does deserve some blame it's not like we recruit track guys and freaks. We recruit Wall street

USC let Amir walk and I see why. CJ is a good athlete but wouldn't be a starter at top 10 programs. Regardless, you'll always find exceptions, but overall, when have we been flying around smacking people? When do we over power teams? I haven't seen it.

C.J.? You might think that but I really don't see it. And we don't utilize Amir strength like we should. He should be used like Bryon Marshall because BK wants to run the spread but he enters every game with a different game plan and not a clue what he really wants to do.

Unless it's Oklahoma two year ago, he knew what he was doing that night

FWIW, Amir played pretty darn good his freshman year at USC. One of my biggest WTF's with this staff is why do players play tight. Our players play tight, nervous, etc. and it shows. Why do we start games so poorly. How does a coach talk about starting fast but his team never does, that's confusing.

We have plenty of ATH's and we have plenty of team speed. At this stage it's about putting them in a position to be successful.

Keep in mind that CJ wasn't our starter, Amir was, and he played pretty darn well to start the season. Combined our slot position played really well this year.

And CJ came in as a safety. Hindsight 20/20, he should still be playing safety. Oy

Yeah. Overall team speed really isn't the problem. Used to be, like in the Willingham years and maybe Weis-era on defense. But it's not any more, at least from a physical/athletic perspective.
The bigger problem is we too often play tight, and we seem to have this perpetual issue with getting players up to speed on our systems (I guess that can translate into on-the-field speed problems, if they're hesitant). I've no idea why that is, or what's so hard, but at some level it does come back to coaching.

Safety had a much deeper chart than slot receiver when that switch was made.

You're right. That's why I noted the hindsight 20/20. It is what it is now, but w/ the benefit of hindsight; I'd take Prosise over most of our safeties on the roster right now.
