C.J.? You might think that but I really don't see it. And we don't utilize Amir strength like we should. He should be used like Bryon Marshall because BK wants to run the spread but he enters every game with a different game plan and not a clue what he really wants to do.

Unless it's Oklahoma two year ago, he knew what he was doing that night

Why don't you think CJ is athletic?

Yes!! Let's get rid of Kelly and bring in Urban Meyer. Then maybe ND could have an 81% Graduation Success Rate, too!!

If that means national championships I'm sure 90% of the people in this site would go for it.

Speaking of coaching blunders, did anybody see Bob Stoops yesterday? He didn't decline a running into the punter and punted again for some stupid reason. OSU promptly housed the next one. That was right up there with BK going for 2 against NW.

Wisconsin, Mizzou, OSU would all smash ND like a bug. Lets stop throwing stones.

Meyer is an elite coach.

Brian Kelly is not.

That simple

Hmmm.

Didn't just last year, with Tommy Rees, ND beat Michigan State, whereas Ohio State could not beat them, with Braxton Miller?

Maybe I'm thinking about someone else.

How soon we forget.

Urban Meyer has all the trust in the world in Mickey and he is widely known as one of the best SC in the country. I know you hate Longo but why do you hate him so much?

I can't speak for Koon, but, my issues are as follows

1.No mental toughness. The strength coach is with these kids more than anyone. It's his job to make these kids animals, hasn't happened.

2. He is s classic strength coach in the United states which means he adheres to the 'Olympic lifts'. Olympic lifts have there benefits, but, you don't get the bang for your bang like some strength coaches think example: Longo. Mickey on the other hand adheres to more of the conjugate method which has been proven time and time again to be the superior method.

3. I'm not disputing that we recruit particular types of players. But let's look at our linemen for example. They're tall and long but from a physical stnd point not well put together. Look at OSU, Wisonsin, Alabama, and so on. Those lineman look at act like bad asses. I put that that on the strength coach, those guys are the easiest to develop in my opinion.

Although im not in the NCAA, I am a strength coach.

What does last years team have to do with the major recruiting gaps and under developed players? Why is Shumate not developed? Why is Redfield being passed by undersized true freshmen? Why did Kelly list Rees ahead of Kiel in the spring depth chart? Why didn't Kelly let Lynch play OLB? In all of Kelly's tenure at ND, why has QB play been so horrible? Is it his methods?

This is just a sample of legitimate questions that can be asked and might indicate a level of stubbornness in Kelly. I mean, if Aaron Lynch wants to be an edge rusher, you let him be an edge rusher. You don't just let talent like that walk out the door.

I mean, we have highly talented Olinemen who can get a push to save their lives. We also have a DC who got exposed by ASU in no huddle and couldn't adjust because he couldnt get his sub packages on the field. Teams went no huddle on ND down the stretch and the defense couldnt stop anybody. You can bet year next we are going to see opposing teams employ this same strategy if BVG is still here of course.

Do you think that BVG is the only Defensive Coordinator to "get exposed" by an up-tempo offense?

I would quit rooting for ND if they hired Urban. He is everything that is wrong with college football. A complete dirtbag.

I'm having trouble finding more data, but Kelly had a 75% GSR in his last year at Cincinnati. I think the graduation rate at ND has much more to do with the academic structure at the University than the head coach of the football team.

Yes. The school dictates this much more than the head coach.

On the recruiting effort - say on TV today that they tried to interview Oregon HC but he was in Hawaii already recruiting. That's the tenacity you need.

I would bet that BK is doing the same.

Northwestern.

My point is that up tempo is the latest rage in college football. And, just like the spread, air raid, option, and forward pass before it; defenses(all over the country) are being caught flat while they try to figure it out and adjust.

Yep, which is even more mind blowing when you consider that we seemed as though it was the first time we saw it. UNC runs a up tempo offense, that's Fedora's thing. How we were surprised by that blows me away.
