Would you rather:

A) lose to Northwestern and Louisville, beat Southern Cal

B) beat Northwestern and Louisville, lose to Southern Cal

I am gong to get killed for this but I would choose B. It is better to be 9-3 going into the bowl game then 8-4, mostly for appearance reason because win the bowl game and you have a 10 win season to use for recruiting.

I feel dirty just typing that, I will now go take a shower.

I agree. I'd rather be 9-3, especially considering Louisville is better than USC.

Absolutely A. Anyone who says anything else ain't Irish. 8-4 isn't much different from 9-3 at this point (10-2 is a different story imo). You take a win over a yearly rival whenever you can, especially if it's your biggest rival and they happen to be those cocky sons-o-bitches in Southern Cal.

USC may or may not get much better under Sark, but it's only a matter of time before they become a very good team again given the way they can pull in elite talent. Take the wins now while we have an advantage.

USC isn't even really a rival game any more. You always take 2 wins over 1.

Always take a win over your biggest rival. We win these next two games and I won't look at this season as a total failure. Do I think we will win? After these last three weeks I don't see any way we can.

Agholor and Juju Smith are going to make Tranquill and Colinsworth look silly if they start. Really hope Redfield and Shummate somehow end up in the lineup.

I disagree. Now that Michigan is off for the foreseeable future, Catholics vs Convicts is a thing of the past, and Navy is more about honoring tradition and past debt; the USC game is the only true rivalry game we have year in, year out.

And I agree, the rational part of my brain says that 2 wins is better than one. But the green kool aid chugger says BEAT SC!

Kelly said Drue Tranquill tore his ACL during the Louisville game, will be out for the year- Max Redfield and Austin Collinsworth will play one safety spot and Elijah Shumate and Eilar Hardy will play other safety spot

Kelly said Sheldon Day will not play this weekend against USC. Hopeful to have him back for the bowl game

Jarron Jones is out for the year, has a Lisfranc injury and will have surgery next week. Out 4-6 months. Should be back for spring ball

Per BK he'll go with a rotation of Collinsworth and Redfield at one safety sport while Shumate and Hardly will play the other.

How does the question of whether or not USC is a rivalry even come up? Who asked it? Of course it's a rivalry. It's our #1 rivalry.

Some bits from the PC:

- BK said Jaylon lined up the D wrong on UL's last TD run. Part of growth as a player.

- Safeties made wrong calls on both of UL's zone read TD runs.

- Cole Luke is turning into an 'A' player. Came in as a 'C'

- Chris Brown has been putting a hard effort in practice the last few weeks. Won't let anyone take reps away from him.

- Folston has been "outstanding" in pass pro the past two weeks.

- Greg Bryant has had two weeks of really good practice and will get more carries against USC.

- Both Morgan and Martini will play when Morgan is eligible in the second half.

- Hardy should be able to practice and play in the bowl game.

- On DaVaris Daniels, they are at the point of determining eligibility as it relates to academics. Decision should happen soon.

- Vacating victories is not on the table per BK's last meeting with Swarbrick.

So we're averaging 7 starts total across our defense right now. I'd bet there isn't another D1 defense that's less experienced at the moment.

Tranquil: on tough SOB.
That's why this team is in good hands in the future. I see many guys with this Team before Me/fight through pain/etc. Not the "is ND Soft?" crap some on here are trying to say. Between suspensions and injuries, this team has been snake bitten, but they keep fighting. Sure they make bone head plays, but heart's never been in question. In my book anyways.

Koon just had an orgasm.

I'll believe it when I see it. If it's a close game, I wouldn't be surprised if he came in for 2 plays and sat the rest.

He's too athletic. Doesn't make sense to put the ball in his hands.

I really hope this means we'll see primarily Folston and Bryant against SC. McDaniel had his moments, but overall, he's been average at best this year. Bryant has shown much more upside.

Hopefully GB has gotten the dancing behind the line of scrimmage out of his system. He obviously is more talented than CM, but he hasn't hit the holes with determination at all this year.

Agree that's been an issue, but still, 4.6 YPC. Not that the sample size is fair, but he's producing more than Cam based on YPC, FWIW.

I hate YPC with such a small sample size. When he has so few carries, it can be inflated by a few long runs. He has only achieved that YPC average in two games this season - Rice and Syracuse.

I hope he does great. I hope he hits the hole with determination. I hope he blocks well. GB has a ton of ability and his versatility is greatly needed in the offense. His dancing behind the line of scrimmage drives me crazy. He is not Barry Sanders.
