When you start looking at the inherent biases of people, it gets really easy to see why this committee is a disaster. They'd be MUCH better off a committee composed of people from Harvard/Yale/Villanova/San Diego/insert non-FBS schools that know football and don't have massive conflicts of interest to vote.
Let's break it down, including Archie for a second:
Archie-SEC +1, Ole Miss +1
Wieberg-SEC +1, Missouri +1
Jeff Long-SEC +1, Big Ten +1, Arkansas +1, Michigan +1
Alvarez-Big Ten +1, Wisconsin +1
Mike Gould-Air Force +1
Pat Haden-PAC12 +1, USC +1
Jerndstedt-PAC12 +1, Oregon +1
Luck-Big 12 +1, WVU +1, Stanford +1
Osborne-Nebraska +1
Radakovich-ACC +1, Clemson +1
Rice-PAC 12 +1, Stanford +1, ND +1 (though she admits she cheers for Stanford over ND)
Tranghese-ND -1 (blames ND for Big East collapse)
Willingham-PAC12 +1, Big Ten +1, Michigan State +1, Stanford +1, Notre Dame -1 (thinks ND is racist for firing him for being a bad coach)
Total it up...
Big Ten = +3
ACC = +1
PAC = +4
SEC = +3
Big 12 = +1
Note who the undefeated defending champ from the ACC (+1) is being jumped by.
Also note that ND is net -1. And note that Michigan State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Oregon and Ole Miss... five teams that people continue to bring up as "over ranked" by the committee... all have hired guns on the committee.
This whole process is just so poorly conceived and executed... can't wait for the chaos.
