I hear you, but out of our control. We go out of our way to put together one of the toughest schedules in the country. For that reason, it's hard to get to upset. If we were playing, IDK, who does Miss. St. play this week? Then, I'd be frustrated.

Thing is, if we had one of the Miss. schools on our schedule last year...we're ducking the best of the SEC. Then all of a sudden in 2014 their sh!t don't stink.

yes
6-3 WVU at #22.
the only 3 loss team in the top 25.
well at least now we know why WVU is in the Top 25...bama needed their patsy so they could say they had a win vs a top 25 team YTD.

i still think the 2 miss schools are in for a lot of "grief and pain instead of promised joy" in the weeks ahead...

Gotta love TCU finishing #11 in 2008 at 10-2 only to go undefeated the next two years but unable to crack a title game. Most years there are not that many undefeated but they do it with 4 others in 2009 and kiss your sister #3 in 2010.

I am unsure if I would rather see WV win out to knock down KState or lose out to drop them from "quality win" qualifier. LSU is kind of in the same boat.

Actually its really easy to get upset. Not at ND or anything, but yeah people are saying that our schedule sucks . . . and it's hard to argue with them.

Alabama doesn't NEED anything with LSU, Auburn, Mississippi State, and (possibly) the SEC championship game ahead of them. If they win out, they will have earned their playoff spot twice over.

ND's challenge isn't just that our schedule to-date has sucked, it's that our schedule for the REMAINDER of the year isn't great either (with the exception of this week).

I do too. Ultimately I think...FSU, 'Bama, Oregon and ND in the final four...no particular order. One undefeated, three one loss.

This little TCU and Mich. St. bug on my shoulder is a bit concerning though. Even though we're better than both, MSU especially.

I just tell people that ND defeating these opponents robbed them of their will to play hard the rest of the season.

Miss State plays UT Martin this week, they should drop to #2 if the committee has any self respect. If they win out they can bring them back to #1 with wins over Bama and Ole Miss (who plays Presbyterian this week).

I really hope Arkansas can come off their bye week and knock LSU and Ole Miss down a peg the following weeks, both at home for them. LSU will be coming off of Bama and Ole Miss looking ahead to Miss State (but healthy with a bye week prior).

I'm still not sold on Alabama or Oregon. If they win out, I think they're both in, but I'm not convinced they WILL win out. Alabama was terribly average against Ole Miss and Arkansas and I think they'll struggle in at least one of their remaining regular season games. Oregon is so boom-or-bust that I don't know what to think, but they have the advantage of not playing anybody until the championship game.

Yep. It's going to be really hard to make our case with a straight face unless we get some serious help. We desperately need TCU to lose this week KState has a ton of losing opportunities left. MSU would obviously help.

At this point I have to assume:
1) SEC West, 2) FSU, 3) Oregon are solid. Oregon is the only questionable one since they'll likely need to beat ASU in the PAC 12 championship.

So we'll be fighting the Big 12 Champion and the Big 10 Champion for the last spot with likely only 1 ranked victory on our entire schedule. We're going to need some help.

I understand what "year to date" means. That's the part of your post I was replying to. Alabama DGAF what their SOS is YTD. You implied that there shenanigans taking place to artificially boost Alabama's strength of schedule, but my point is that those shenanigans wouldn't happen in the first week of November because the first week of November is irrelevant.

they already did.

that was the point of my first post on this...which is YTD bama really hasnt played anyone and that the committee is not ranking them for what they have done YTD, but rather like you and the rest of the shills at espn nation, are ranking them accoding to what they more than likley are going to do, or should do, or what they think they will do.

i think they will run the table, and when they do, they should and will get in, but unless and until that occurs lets rank them for their body of work YTD which is what the comiittee says they do and are doing--but they are not.

Very hard to argue with that point, at this time right now. We can't schedule week to week. ND should just reach out to the top 13(can't schedule ourself) teams every year to schedule them...then we'd be fine.

You honestly think that West Virginia is ranked solely to justify Alabama's ranking? If we're dealing with that level of tin-foil-hattery, then I don't see any reason to continue the conversation.

Also, for whatever little Alabama has done, Notre Dame has done even less so maybe let's not go there.

Stanford and USC have a chance to work their way back into the top 25, although us beating USC could easily knock them right back out. Both are #2 in their division of the PAC12.

Louisville doesn't stand a chance of making the top 25 without beating us.

As crappy as Michigan is, they still stand to finish better than five or six teams in the B1G.

But justifying their current rank with whats to come is fucking stupid. They have neither won or lost those games, they should not count.

ND lost to the #2 team in the CFP on a bad call. Had we won we would be top 3 and probably #2. Alabama pummelled Arkansas 14-13. Alabama hasn't earned that spot either.

It was a joke, I thought saying the number 1 ranked team in the land would move up made that clear... tough crowd today...
