Posted in the gameday thread, but probably better here. Casher is being sued by his own lawyer for failing to pay his legal fees.

He should get a new lawyer to defend him, and then stiff that guy too.

I love this part of the ESPN story...

Spence said that as of noon Thursday, no officials from Florida State had called to inquire how Spence's company authenticated as many signatures as it did. ESPN reported earlier this week that Florida State's compliance department was looking into how so many Winston signatures were submitted to JSA.

Not even a fricken phone call. Sure, they are investigating.... LOL.

I read the ESPN article....One quick question came to mind.....can the ACC commish, or even the NCAA, step in and suspend players and then demand a true, through investigation by impartial and outside sources?? It is clear that FSU needs to be investigated....FSU investigating themselves is about as corrupt and ridiculous as Eric Holder investigating the DOJ....How can one investigate itself or its cash cow objectively?? It's called a conflict of interest....this crap with JW is getting beyond stupid and embarrassing....it's making the NCAA and ACC look stupid now too....and that bothers me because of ND's new relationship with the ACC....this crap can't be being tolerated by the other members of the conf...it's friggin' unreal.....

Couldn't agree more, they are carrying the ACC Banner this year, don't think for a minute the ACC doesn't want them to win another NC, it will increase the value of the ACC Brand.

FSU themselves are the only ones that can wake up and stop it. I've never been to Tallahassee but I have to assume FSU runs that town. Only way I see them doing anything is if big time boosters start demanding they investigate and we all know that isn't going to happen, if anything they are probably telling them to ride it out and go for another NC.

Its disgusting to watch this, I would personally be embarrassed to be associated with FSU right now but such is big time CFB........money talks.........

The NCAA wouldn't do anything until they did their own investigation. The ACC could jump in and pressure FSU, but I doubt it would happen until the NCAA did something.

No true at all. Manziel was suspended for a half without any proof of money changing hands.

The thing is. Even if evidence comes out showing he took money and FSU must vacate wins. Who cares? If Winston stays eligible all season and they win back to back titles. FSU just earned all of that money playing in all of those games. Vacate wins, that's fine. They accomplished what they wanted in the "now". They produced tv ratings and revenue. On paper the season would not have existed but in the bank account it still shows. Let's be honest that's all anyone cares about. Only fans want the undefeated seasons and titles.

That one hit a little close to home re: his sexual assault charge last year and they can't really appear to be completely insensitive to that sort of thing. Plus they only caved on the second half because he apparently flat-out lied to them.
On this one, no one really cares about autographs. And with no proof, there's nothing to force their hand aside from maybe the prospect of vacating wins. And, as Military said, who cares about that?

But, I'd almost guarantee the interim guy does nothing. Why give the locals reason to be pissed at you? Ppl can wail and gnash their teeth nationally, but he knows the score.

Which leads to another fine conversation regarding the lack of academic qualifications of the incoming president and treating the school presidency as some sort of political reward. This school is fucked up.

Earlier this week, Florida State said it was investigation if Winston had signed memorabilia for money...Spence told ESPN that he hadn't heard from Florida State...Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher said Monday that Winston hasn't been paid for his autograph. Some of the items on the Spence site are consecutively numbered, meaning they were likely submitted together.

"We feel very good," Fisher said via Warchant.com. "Talked to him and I know people have talked to the owners of the company and different people and from what I understand, we'll see. But I'm not concerned."

FSU investigating => Authenticator says not heard from FSU => Jimbo says we talked to the company


And my favorite...
