Is the take, he is just out of football for the year and still will be a student, or is he dismissed like Golson?

It's going to hurt not having him against FSU, but I'm not convinced we still can't be competitive. If he really comes back in 2015 though, we'll have a sick secondary.

I honestly think we will be fine as long as the cornerbacks who have been playing for us stay healthy.

Butler is starting to rotate in, which is a great sign. Did anyone notice that we lined Butler up at CB and Riggs at safety at least once on Saturday? I'm encouraged that Kelly is beginning to trust Butler more.

But Riggs is gone next year and we need KVR back.

FIFY - looking at the depth chart...its crazy. Except at TE we return a basically everything on offense, and experience and playmakers at every level of the defense. While we lose Riggs, we may get KVR back, and have Butler and Watkins with another year of experience under their belts. We are a little thin at Safety as was mentioned in another thread, but there is serious high end talent there with some quality young guys coming in behind them. Next year I could see Farley moving back to S to provide depth and experience there. This is all regardless of what happens with any of the other frozen 4.

and he can't appeal??

My uneducated guess is that if he appealed it would've taken until the end of the semester and then cost him basically an extra semester of suspension. Right now it seems its this one and next. If he would've appealed it may have taken him to next and the one after. He would have been away from the team a semester longer

I love you Keivarae. ND already misses you, but do your thing. Can't wait to see you in 2015. The bod squad will pour out some protein shake in your honor.

Farley got abused against Stanford. His coverage on a te was putrid. We cannot rely on him to cover anyone. He has been good in run support this year though.

I like how the standard since Kelly has been to face punishment and return. Yeah we've list some but seems more often they see the value of ND.

IMO, Farley will be toast during the FSU game. But as far as next year, Watkins will also be ready to lock down. I'm guessing he's RSing but I could be wrong. Cole Like, Kaivarae, Redfield, Shummate, Watkins, good Lord!

Sorry if I missed this in the other pages, but is he still enrolled in school this semester, or has he been suspended for the semester and will have to re-enroll? If he can just go to spring ball without having to deal with reinstatement proceedings, he will make a great replacement for Cody Riggs next year

Don't forget the front seven with this as well...Smith next year, good lord.

We will be the best team in the country. Especially if DD is on that squad.

He won't be back until June per his own message.

Can anyone explain if he really had any other choice but to come back to ND ?

Why would he HAVE to come back to ND?

He's played 2 of his 4 years of PT in 3 years of his 5 year window of eligibility.

Options:

Transfer to another FBS school and play in '15 ( may require NCAA waiver). Not sure if he would have to sit out a year as he did not play in '14. I don't recall this situation occurring before.

Transfer to FBS school and sit out a year if NCAA required.

Transfer to a FCS school and play in '15.

NFL early draft.

Outside of him saying he would he back in June and wanted to complete the ND degree he could go into the Draft next year. I hope he chooses to come back and finish up on good terms.
