I wasn't sure I heard the announcers correctly when they said Martell was committed to Washington. Sure enough he committed at age 14. If it lasts, sounds like a record for longest verbal/ signed commit. But that was to Sark who has offered him at SC.

34-31, Gorman held on for the win after getting up big on Bosco. Good game!

I want Tony Sanchez to be our coach post-Kelly.

As far as high school coaches, be careful what you wish for. Remember Gerry Faust? Four national high school championships at Moeller did not translate into much success at Notre Dame. Faust's career at Notre Dame and Akron - 73-79-4. And how about Terry Brennan? Three city championships at Mount Carmel(Chicago), and he's supposed to be ready to coach major college football? Of course, the foreboding and ominous shadow of Theodore Hesburgh hovering over the football program did not help Brennan's efforts.

Last night's game was a great one! Snoop's son is a baller, Alize' is a baller, and Fertitta is going to make us all proud! Hope he reels in Alize', but I think the west side connection will be too tough to overcome to pull in Snoop Jr.

I noticed Nicco seemed to be playing a lot of Nickel (or some variety of corner) much more than he was playing safety. And Bosco didn't throw his way at all. I'll take that as a good sign. He played solid against the #1 team and QB in the country. And made a few plays that looked real nice...like blowing up that screen and getting after Bosco's RB in the backfield. He has very good instincts and play diagnosis it seems like. But I admit, I'm not much of a scout or anything...just a few things that stood out to me as someone who watches a lot of football. No bonehead plays or missed tackles either that I can remember.

Gorman is number one because they recruit their players(nation wide). Broadus, Martel, Tyjon Lindsey are all transfers from other high schools. Can you imagine a football prospect asking his parents - hey mom, do you suppose we could get Dad to rent us a house down in Liberty City? Booker T and Miami Central play some awfully good football, and college recruiters are always at their games. Might help my chances to get a few decent college offers.

And Bosco was #1 because the recruit from all over LA and OC, as does Mater Dei as does De la Salle in the east bay up north. It's the way it is.

I bet if you are at a high school in Miami not named Booker T or Central, their coaches are saying, "The only reason Booker T and Central are any good is they recruit all over the Metro area".

There are a lot of people that doubt this kid and all I can think is, he looks like a stud playing against the best schedule high school has to offer. He's an alpha dog and I have a feeling that will carry over at the next level. Confidence and desire are half of what makes a good college football player.

Agree completely. I'm not saying he'll be an All-American for us but I can't stand when I hear people saying that this was a wasted offer and accepted commitment by the staff. He has everything I want in a player except that he's undersized. I'd take the attitude he has in exchange for a couple inches and a few pounds. Hope Nicco proves all the naysayers wrong.

I'm on board with the Fertitta offer as well. My hope is that he has a little honey badger in him. His measurables won't wow anyone but watch the tape and he is always around the ball and making plays.

Even if his floor is special teams contributor, he seems like a young man who loves the game, his teammates and knows how to work hard. Give me guys like that all day long.

He's smart, cocky, rich, and plays with a BA attitude and loves to hit. BVG will find a spot for him.

To me he stood out a lot more in the Servite game. He made some big hits in that game. Last night he looked really small out there. Bosco hasn't lost in a year so congrats to the all star team from BG

Pretty impressive highlights right there! Who's #8 on BG? Is it Jones? That dude is a man amongst boys.
