If I were Kelly, I'd be asking the West Coast coordinator a pertinent question - why hasn't this kid received an offer? Has started since his freshman year, and St. Augustine(lead by Coach Sanchez) is one of the better California programs. Invited to both the Rivals Challenge and the NIKE Opening. Recently visited Stanford with teammates Chris Gesell OL and Quinn Seau LB. Team captain and will be considering Pre-Med as a Major. Underclass mate Chuck Filiaga will soon make all the major offer lists.

I hear all that, but this kid doesn't have an elite offer list. Really he doesn't have one elite offer.

I was about to say the same thing. I am starting to feel sorry for Stanford, what do they have to do to put them into the elite category?

4 straight 11 win seasons, more elite than ND right now.

No clue if this kid deserves an offer or not from ND.

That being said, there are players currently on the team (and incoming and currently being recruited) with worse offer list's than this guy's.

St Augustine is middle of the road division wise. They play up in the new California playoff system, so maybe it's a level of competition thing?

GO Duke! good to see them getting some interest.

Wait until they actually become good and steal recruits from the Mid-Atlantic/Carolinas from Notre Dame every season. We should not be rooting for Duke.

was there just not much interest from him or us? seems like he fits the mold based off his finalists.

You do bring up a good point Buster, however if they keep having good seasons it will be hard for them to keep their coach.

It was on our end. Per Tj on a few different occasions we view him as a CB/S tweener and there were guys we like/liked better. Not as much of a fit for BVG's system as he would have been for Diaco's.

idk about the rest of you guys, but if you could guarantee me that coach Cutcliffe at Duke could stay healthy for more than a few years he would be my #1 replacement should Coach Kelly fly the coup.

I don't think Cutcliffe is going anywhere. He's about to turn 60. He already turned down Tennessee when Kiffin left and he's just a loyal guy. He got fired at Ole Miss because the AD demanded that he fire some assistants after his first losing season and he refused to. He's one of the only coaches out there who wouldn't treat Duke as a stepping stone.

We are late to the party but that's a positive. Previously I think ND had a very high chance to land him. Will be interesting to see.

Scout: he's excited and heard good things. Will visit for Unc or Stanford. Has a visit set up for Stanford in January. Looking to visit Vanderbilt.

ND has more than a fair shot to land him. They are probably in his Top 2 or 3 at this point. ND didnt plan on taking another safety in the class but things change with Hardy and Baratti unknown situations. Got to have your bases covered in case of the worst.

I am glad to hear that he holds us in such high regards! I thought he was all Stanford, but with this offer changing things a bit I hope we can land him as his upside looks to be greater than the two names you mentioned. It really sucks for Barratti though, I think he has the ability to be very good, wish him a speedy recovery.

So we have a Jr., had a III and now they're looking to add a IV to the team? Where will they go next, Count, Duke and Prince?

Cliff Notes?

It's an article by new ISD contributor Matt Freeman. Says that ND is high up on his list. Looking to visit either the 4th or the week after. Mentioned ESB visiting for Stanford and he would visit with him. He's open to more then just safety. Said ND cooled after McKinney committed but they have picked up contact and said they want another safety.

His grandfather, Frank Jr, played linebacker for USC and the San Diego Chargers. One of the first inductees into the Chargers Hall of Fame. Acorns do not fall far from the tree.
