I don't understand why ND hasn't offered Ferns yet because it was no secret we could have landed him.

We requested the he come to Irish Invasion and camp for his offer. We wanted to see him workout. At the time he'd already been offered by OSU, UM, MSU, and PSU. They didn't take kindly to us requesting that. They didn't think they should have to camp for ND if they didn't have to for the others.

Lol sounds ridiculous on their end then. I'm not upset with the staff at all over this type of thing. Kid was just out of his sophomore year of HS and they're mad we didn't offer on the spot? Boo hoo.

You can be sure his dad is the cause for most of this.

Understandable. Thanks for the response and reps. Well hopefully it all gets worked out and the staff gets the evaluation they're looking for and things can get smoothed over.

I kinda have to agree with this. Coaches have no expectation of extending anybody an offer. It is up to the kid to show that he deserves one based on his play, attitude, and academics. Now I'm not going to sit here and bash the kid, but maybe there was a reason they didn't extend when they had a chance. Maybe they are unsure of his potential, what the 2015 class will look like at his position, the uncertainty of players with injuries, etc, etc. If they decide he is worth an offer they will extend one, but not one minute before then.

Thanks TP. My past experience shows that it's normally the parents who create this sense of entitlement in the kids. If it's not his dad that was upset, it makes me think it's him. Do we have an over sized ego here?
