Just my layman's opinion, but, outside of the obvious bad passes (which have been few), Golson is throwing low trajectory, high velocity darts. I have not seen many deep passes yet, though. Definite NFL quality short to intermediate range passes for sure.

Norris is still touting Everett (the link is the same article linked above in IM8's post 2695):

Who else deserves more attention, especially among QBs? What are the chances he would really leave?

It would really suck if he did. We lose no starters besides Riggs and Koyack after this year, right? We will be primed for a playoff run with Everett back. Breaking in a new QB might be a problem.

But that's what they said about 2012 ...

Don't we lose to middle of the O Line?

I think Malik will be a great QB after Golson leaves. I would like to see Golson stay after this season, but there are a ton of positions on the team where we would be hurting more than QB.

That's kind of the key though. Malik has yet to actually throw a pass in a game. We have no idea how good/bad he's going to be. Some players look awesome in practice and then like deer-in-headlights come gametime. I'm not saying he's not going to be good, but right now we have a sure thing. I think if you're Kelly and Golson is looking at moving on you need to try desperately to get him to stick around for the last year.

That's kind of misleading, as he has seen gametime, albeit limited. In his first play though, he ran for 56 yards like a boss. There has been nothing in that limited game time or the Blue & Gold Game (I know... I know..) that should make anyone think that Malik will get Crist Syndrome.

You know who else ran an option play to great effect in garbage time against an outmatched opponent for a long run but got gassed before they could score the touchdown?

JMO that Kelly personally doesn't seem to be recruiting like crazy this year, but I'm hoping he makes Golson his priortity. He's a 6 star recruit for this coming off season.

I really don't think EG bolts for the NFL after this year. Now had he played last year I might be singing a different tune.

He's already lost one year, doubt he forgoes another unless he gets a REALLY high draft grade.

There's also the depth issue. If EG leaves, unless we have a shot at some '15 QB I am unaware of, we will have two scholarship QBs on the roster in 2015, Malik and Kizer. I know there's Monty too, but still. Kinda scary.

This came up in the Ronnie Stanley thread, but I'll bring it here to stay on topic. How tall do we think Golson is, really? This picture is pretty telling and we know BK isn't a tall dude.

Yup, his height alone will hold him back from a high draft grade. He'll be back next year and this team will be nasty...we're already pretty damn good.

He's a senior this year, so I assumed he will be gone next year.

Could be wrong ... he certainly has another year of eligibility. But I figure Kelly will have a new PWO take over the Red Army, who will also hopefully work his way into the ranks of the scholarship players in a couple years.

Maybe Kelly had his cowboy boots on! If I were him, I'd pay money to have this photo taken down, lol.

Especially after the magic that could happen. Kool Aid drinker I am, granted. But EG knowing he has at least another year with a loaded team tends to make a person thirsty.

I haven't noticed much about the 26 completions which does tie a NCAA Record.
FBS: 26 – Dominique Davis, East Carolina vs. Navy, Oct. 22, 2011[1]
FCS: 29 – Quinn Epperly, Princeton vs. Cornell, Nov. 2, 2013[29] Wiki'

If they are counting that mishap right before the half as an incompletion, than how can It still be considered a fumble? This could be another notch on his belt for the Heisman run and ESPN is the only one I've read so far disputing this. Has anyone read anywhere that has a good explanation?

Everett got too excited and screwed that up. He fumbled. We were fortunate that the whistle blew. This is another example of Everett's mind not yet being "QB gunslinger cool". He flubbed the snap, bobbled the ball, as a fantastic athlete he could reach out in a mini-time-snip and push the ball to the ground, then, like a little kid who has messed something up, stand there [not falling on the ball// admitting that he screwed up] hoping that no one noticed. Had his mind been cooly in the game, he would have fallen on the ball, regrouped his team, and properly spiked it.

Everett still needs some Zen in him.

I agree and that's my argument. Hope tomorrow brings some talking heads to the table to bring that 'Fumble" into the light. They say he didn't tie the record because that was an incomplete pass. Something needs explained! Can't have 2 different stats for 1 specific guys play..
