I see where you are going. Just because you have 4000 students doesn't mean you have 22 football players but SMC shouldn't be looked down upon for scheduling a large school, especially one with a top 5 QB on it. The Trinity League doesn't have many members, so they have to play a lot of non conference games. SMC doesn't play other large public schools nearby that they draw from like, Mission Viejo, El Toro, Tessoro and Trabuco Hills, where they play home games.
I was surprised that he was unable to create anything with his feet. There wasn't anything he did last Friday that would have made you think he was one of the top QB's in the country. I'm going to go to the Centennial game in a few weeks to see if he fairs any better.
...and btw, I could see Santiago's RB playing DI. He had 3 TD's. Not saying he is going to a Power 5 but someone told me he went for over 100 the week before and that he's only a Jr, maybe even a soph. Besides that, nothing stood out.
One interesting thing about that game and talking to SMC fans... they PROMISED that Ryan Kilander is going to contribute to ND before he leaves. With Joe Schmidt starring as a walk on from the Trinity League, who can argue.
