Seemed like he missed quite a few tackles on Saturday. Maybe first game jitters.

I saw him miss one tackle on the sideline, then quickly recover to get in on a gang tackle of the ball carrier. I didn't see "quite a few" missed tackles.

I know people are jumping on you for this, but that's what I saw too. It didn't stop him from dominating on defense and having a good game, but he missed a lot of tackles for him. It's good to know that a game where he has struggles is still one where he is the best player on defense. lol

On the other hand, I didn't see him blocked out of a single play all game long. Always found a way to get into the right spots.

I was happy with his play, but like you said, saw a lot of missed tackles.

I'm in the majority here. I saw maybe 1 missed tackle along with him recovering to get in on the gang tackle. He did have a 'quiet' game though. He was all over the place, but the good thing was, so was everybody else. That defense was in swarm mode, which has me very optimistic about the trend of the defense under BVG.

I actually agree with all of that except him missing only one tackle. I've watched the game twice and he missed quite a few. I can think of two off of the top of my head where he missed the tackle, then got up and still got in on the gang tackle.

Watch the game again, you'll see.

Yep, didn't say he had a bad game, just was caught by surprise. We all know he is the best player on the field on both sides of the ball. L

I think he has the potential to be the best LB in school history by the time he graduates.

Not even a question IMO. He's got to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, athletic freaks in college football right now. He towers over everyone and is faster than running backs. He might never get the Heisman hype of Te'o, but his impact is already just as big as Manti's.

I'll concede that sophomore Jaylon has had a bigger impact than sophomore Manti, but it'll take a special couple of years for him to match what Manti did over four.

Freshman and Sophomore Jaylon, in my opinion.

This. Jaylon's ahead right now comparing soph to soph...but he'll need to keep it up over a longer period of time. His speed get's him to places on the field that Manti couldn't...this bodes well for Jaylon.

Jaylon is going to be a top 10 pick in 2015. I can't believe he is a sophomore.

I doubt it. He is undersized and most of all, he is not a pass rusher. The precedent of Dion Jordan, who looks like a bust, does not help him either (they share a similar style of game). NFL want sacks and QB hurries.

Anyway, to me, he is right now the second best defensive player in College Football, only behind Leonard Williams, the JJ Watt of College Football.

He's 6'3"/230 as a sophomore. He isn't undersized at all. In fact, he is currently NFL size for a WILL.

Nick Barnett - 6'3"/229
Vontaze Burfict - 6'1"/248
Wesley Woodyard - 6'3"/233
Lance Briggs - 6'1"/244
Sean Weatherspoon - 6'2"/244
Jerod Mayo - 6'1"/250
Von Miller - 6'3"/250

He is perfect size for the NFL this very moment, and he's a sophomore in college.

You think it has more to do with his position and/or defensive scheme or his ability? I think he's underutilized as a pass rusher b/c he's so important to us in coverage. If we needed sacks out of him, I suspect we'd get close to double digits.

Honestly I'll take him over Senior Te'o right now. So much faster (not even close really) and better in coverage. Te'o was great dropping in a zone his senior year, but he wouldn't hold up playing man-to-man.
