His school / coach doesn't allow in-season recruiting visits. Same thing with Terrence Alexander last year. This isn't surprising.
Another SEC-country kid with a last-minute ND visit cancelation.

yeah well its his HC who doesn't permit it cos he is a total hardass. I think Bo was trying to petition him to allow him to make the visit but it looks like this was denied.
How does his coach have any say in what this kid does on a Saturday?

He can ruin a kid by kicking off the team of benching him for breaking team rules. Although in theory you are totally correct. Personally, I'd be petitioning the school admin about how you cannot possibly make an informed decision with the rules that are currently in place. The coach may be good, but he could be hurting the players' future.

Saturdays are film day. Now maybe most schools would make an exception for a kid to go visit, but some of these schools play for NATIONAL championships. The players are practically semi-pro.
alot of schools play on saturdays too instead of friday nights and then other more academically minded schools will even practice on sundays to give student athletes a practice free day on monday to catch up on schoolwork/study.
I would have to assume a simple lawyer phone call would stop any bs from coach. By the time anything would be settled, hed be graduated and it wouldn't matter. Stopping rcting at school I can see, stopping kids from doing non illegal things on own time. No way that can have legal ground right?
I wonder how much LSU encourages his coach to have this rule. It makes visits out-of-state MUCH more difficult.

I believe that the in state schools are included in this as well. I could be wrong, but I don't think the coach allows ANY recruiting visits during their season.
Malachi Dupre’s journey began with an official visit to LSU on Jan. 17.
