Usually student government organizations meet on a set day every week. The one I am a part of meets every Monday night.

I'm not exactly sure how the judicial council works, but I assume that they have a similar set up, so its not like it can be rushed. The investigation was completed at the end of last week, seemingly after the judicial council's meeting for the week. So whenever the council meets this week, their fate will be decided. Hope that adds some clarity (at least thats what I think the process is like from my experience with similar orgs.)

Considering that there are at least a few student-athletes that are involved in this investigation, I'd think they'd expedite the ruling to an earlier day. I don't think they're meeting today, since it's a holiday, but I don't see it going farther than tomorrow.

Thanks. Hopefully they meet on Mondays and they get this cleared up today.

Also, I find it kinda ironic that they take academic integrity so seriously that immediate suspensions and harsh statements (vacating wins, etc) were rushed, but they have no sense of urgency in getting the counsel decisions made. I mean, this is a big deal for the university. Why didn't they call the counsel members and get an idea of when the soonest possible time for them to meet? In my opinion, there is no reason to simply not rush the meeting because of sticking to a schedule. Get this finalized one way or the other.

If I were on campus, I'd be on borderline riot mode. If this shit isn't decided for all 5 by the time I get there Friday morning, the admins going to get a piece of this nobodys mind.

Wouldn't be the worst thing for a couple impassioned subway alums to go psycho on the admin... they've got nothing to lose.

Imagine you're a student on one of these honor committees and...

They're not paying you enough to cross the Koon (or Carlo and his people) when you can just as easily vote the other way.

I know school is in session today, any reason they shouldn't meet today?

I'm not sure how they work at ND, but at the private school I went to, we still had classes on Labor Day, but administration and university employees that weren't teaching that day got the day off. It always pissed me off. So if there are some sort of advisor on the committee, they may not be meeting today even if they're normally scheduled to.

Poster on II says he is student involved with council. Says everything should be wrapped up by Thursday, maybe earlier. Says this involved other students other than just football players. Two offenses being looked at are cheating and not divulging knowing of cheating. Cheating would mean automatic F for course so any player would be done. For not divulging knowing it would essentially be "time served." Meaning player could then be reinstated. From his comments Russell appears to be OK as it was his ex-girlfriend who was tutor in question. Williams and Daniels are an unknown at this time. Says these infractions occurred several semesters ago. Thinks some of the five will be playing against Michigan.

Not really about not "buying" the judicial councils schedule, since we don't know what their schedule looks like. It's essentially a shot in the dark, but it should be common sense that they clear things up as soon as possible, which is early this week, either today or tomorrow.

Yeah assuming that, but at least this rumor has a legitimate timetable, if nothing else.

I sense that the University is going to do nothing out of the ordinary (i.e. pull an ad hoc meeting of the council) to push this along. They were quick to jump out in front of the mic to make the announcement but made no effort (that anyone has reported) to expedite this. Stark evidence of the chasm that BK has to work with every day with Admin. When BK leaves, I hope he takes a big turd on their desks.

Exactly what I was thinking, and why my initial thought was that the poster was full of it.

The idea of an honor committee member effectively breaking rules to post this information is so ironic I don't even know what to say.

I wasn't aware of confidently agreements but propriety would seem to require not commenting on a football board about an Honor Code issue, particularly one in progress.

Correction, this person isn't on council but knows someone who is. And if you don't think this kind of stuff gets leaked then you're living in fantasy land.

That I buy, because I've been getting second/third hand information the same way.

What I didn't buy was someone on the council/committee making a post on a public forum.
