I think we will have clarity in the next couple days and that's all I'll say. I will be surprised if it's not done by Tuesday, it'll mean someone isn't moving fast enough.

I'd be surprised if we didn't have official word tomorrow or Tuesday, and I'd also be surprised if we didn't have some players reinstated. If this drags out any further, then someone is dragging their feet in dotting the is and crossing the ts.

Completely agree

Fuller played a great game but the alligator arms on that side line pass for a sure big play (prob a TD) shows he's not quite ready for #1 yet. Whether DD "starts" isn't really a concern but he should easily have more reps as the game unfolds

I don't get comments like this. That ball was coming from across the field not from behind him as fifty plus yarders are. That cut down his chances, because of the angle. And that ball came with unusual velocity. That one and the one CJ missed, both exploded off of the receivers finger tips! And he had a man on his ass.

That would have been a difficult catch for anyone, let alone someone with gator arms!

Mayock alluded to this as well. The route was wrong because he was getting forced the sidelines and he had short arms at the end... velocity had nothing to do with it. It's not like he threw a bullet over the middle. There was arc on the ball and it was just dropped. CJs bounced off his body instead of using his hands to catch

Percy Harvin could catch, and he had Gator arms.

I heard Mayock as well. He is a great analyst. He probably has forgotten more football than you or I will know. And I see his point about not forcing the play back inside.

But you can't forget that that was their toughest db. He is a high quality guy. He has a strong upper body while he moves, and can't always be muscled inside. Some routes don't get run perfectly. That is why quarterbacks check down. Golson's throw was perfectly fit. Maybe some day all of our db's will make catches like that, after they are used to playing with Everett. Then we will be the team to chase. But in the meantime, to avoid semantics. With the coverage and all other variables of that play, it was a difficult catch. He couldn't stop running because of the very good coverage.

So semantics aside, Will does not deserve any criticism from a fan for his game yesterday, or missing that catch. And I bet you that 100 of 100 IE brothers in that same place would have missed it too!

The DB was a non factor in the actual catching of the ball. It's not tipped, fuller isn't distracted, the DB was beat fair and square. That's a complete catchable ball. That falls on fuller. Also 100 of 100 IE brothers aren't currently on. DIV 1 scholarships to the greatest university in the nation

I killed Procise for his drop in the game chat, but I thought Fuller played a good game overall. Maybe I play favorites, but I'm not mad at Fuller but will never forgive Procise for donating a TD to the other team.

Unless I missed it, I think NBC only showed one angle of the play and from that angle it certainly looked like he could have caught it. However, it is possible that he really did not have a play on the ball. I was watching a game earlier in the day and there was a similar play where it looked like the receiver just gave up on a ball that he could have caught with a little more effort. They showed a different angle and you could see he had absolutely no chance. Same thing could have happened on the Fuller play.

I saw the ball hit Fuller's hands...perfect spot right over his shoulder where he had the only play on the ball.

Seriously? Never forgive? That's a bit drastic and melodramatic, no? Kid fucked up, but it was a blowout and he atoned for it shortly thereafter. No harm done.

And you definitely play favorites if you're OK with Fuller's drop but are killing Procise for his drop. Procise's was awful, but Fuller's was bad too.

Pete Sampson said he's heard Russell will have his hearing on Monday and thinks he'll have a positive outcome. He hasn't heard anything on the others.

Of course I am hoping for more than just KR, but if he was all we got back I would still be thrilled. One is better than nothing at all. Thanks for the update!

Yeah, guilty as charged. Think it comes down to the fact that I think Fuller will be good, but I don't think Procise can be. Hopefully he proves me wrong, but my guy tells me there are other guys that should be on the field instead of him.

Did you see it in person or on TV?

TV...I put it in slow motion and could see that the ball changed direction after it hit his hands. Anyway, i think that we have de-railed this thread. Go Irish!

Why? He's athletic, built like a brick sh!thouse and runs like a deer. Not sure what's not to like (aside from the one drop).

I've seen him duck chances to block people and he can't catch. My opinion is actually the opposite of yours. Everything I've seen him do is between mediocre and bad. He doesn't do anything even average. Nevermind above average. Basically, he doesn't look like a football player to me.

We're complaining about two dropped balls on opening day by two players who have not played a lot of football in college........is this what winning is like? Where is Tommy Rees? We need a whipping boy.

As long as you recognize that does not mean he is wrong.

The majority thought South Carolina would handle Texas A&M.

The minority turned out to be smarter.
