Ryan Bartow said on Bill King ND leads for Pass. We made him a priority early and have been on him hard

The QB dominoes would seem to suggest Pass comes to ND but I just feel long term its going to be really hard to keep this kid committed or keep him from the south (as if its one place ;).) There are so many schools that are perceived dark horses in this race it scares me. With that said I really like Pass and would be elated to get him.

Since we missed in 2015, are we going for 2 QBs in 2016, or 1 per year?

I haven't seen to much on this because we aren't completely writing off not taking a 2015 QB. There is a thought out there, suggested by TJ and Wiltfong, that ND feels there might be some different opportunities with 2015 QB's later on during this cycle. With that said, I would think ND would take 2 QB's if we didn't take one this year. It would probably be someone that our 1st take QB (ex. Jawon) was comfortable with.

Thanks. Makes sense.

Really hoping the bolded is true. QB depth is the kind of stuff that makes watching games even more stressful (ala 2nd half of the USC game last year).

I love watching Pass because he is big has a strong arm and can really run. He is not a burner by any means but he is physical enough to take all the pounding that running involves. I also think that the offense is Taylor made for him. Henry is my only player I would want above him.

Much better to take a project this year, than 2 next year.

Interesting that with all the southern schools offering, two of his top 3 are in the Midwest. That tells me the south isn't as big a draw for him. That puts us in a comfortable position.

Just keep in mind that part of the sell here with Jawon and other elites in 2016 is not taking a QB in 2015. I'm not going to get whether thats the right decision or not but thats part of the sell.

Maybe the bag men haven't made the rounds for him yet.

This is why people are skeptical that it actually plays out this way, including myself

Id still rather take Tommy Stevens this year than no one

I think Kevin Wilson would travel to south bend to hit BK in the face if we stole another QB from them lol ... He's got size, mobility, and arm strength; we could defn do worse. He loves IU though

I'd rather bring in a preferred walk on than use a scholly on a kid who would likely always be a backup. Think we'll be fine with Golson, Zaire and Kizer for now.

Think Stevens is better than that. Could easily see him beating out Kizer if it came to it. Guarantee he gets drafted out of Indiana.

Use it for another position. And to say a kid who hasn't even taken a snap in his SR.year is going to get drafted is a head scratcher.

Doesn't seem like it to me. Wiltfong mentions all the time when talking about QBs who are a steal for smaller programs as a future NFL caliber player.

If were not hitting our 85 max then there really isn't a loss. We can provide for other positions and Stevens. If we were tight in numbers then I'd understand

Says the man who stated "use a scholly on a kid who would likely always be a backup". Take a QB every year.

In actual Jawon Pass news...

Top 3 is now Louisville, ND and OSU

When talking about ND to Bartow, said he really likes LaFluer and can see himself at ND.

Barton Simmons on Pass:
“I think if we’re talking pure upside he may have as much upside as any quarterback in the class,” said Simmons. “He’s a huge kid, super athletic, has a big arm. He’s a kid who is a potential five-star talent. He has some similar traits to Cam Newton and has the potential to impact games in the same way with his size, versatility and ability to force defenses to account for him.”

Wiltfong previously said he's the type of QB that could win a Heisman at ND.

I haven't been reading the entire thread on this kid, so I apologize if I'm misinformed.

I notice he doesn't have an offer from Georgia. Let's say he commits to ND in time. Is it a foregone conclusion that he's bailing on his verbal if Georgia comes around?

I'm just extremely gun shy about highly regarded recruits and Notre Dame, and especially in ND's ability lately to keep kids who decide they want to look around. Especially ones without offers from their Home State U.
