MSU is the leader, in large part because it is close to his family in Ontario. Obviously the same logic would apply to us. But he also likes MSU's pro-style offense; that we don't have. And it's weird that he even mentioned that, since his tape highlights his running ability. Interesting to see what happens on tomorrow's visit.

Family must be pretty darn dedicated to football to send him down to IMG.

He also thinks FSU, Bama, and Penn State are close to offering too.

Also visiting MSU today, PSU Wednesday, and Rutgers Thursday

Derwin James, Kain Daub, Poona Ford among best at Orlando Nike

3. Michael O’Connor, QB, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound O’Connor proved to be the top quarterback prospect on hand today in what was a windy day. O’Connor’s arm strength really stood out as he made every throw required, and did so with plus accuracy. The native of Canada currently has offers from Michigan State, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Mississippi State, South Florida, Akron, Buffalo and Toledo. O’Connor, a class of 2014 prospect, played the 2012 season at The Baylor School in Chattanooga before transferring to IMG Academy this spring.

IMG Academy is a school for top athletes. There's a large soccer program there as well. Kids go there for High School classes, live on campus, and play on competitive athletics teams.

There's also a lot of international students at IMG.

I didn't quite understand it but in his earlier articles he was referred to as a '15 prospect but then there was something about a post-grad program and now he is a '14 prospect. Someone else with 247 might be able to explain it.

I'd be very happy if we got this kid and shut down QB for 2014. He looks like a 5*.

Not so sure how strong his arm is. His only deep ball on that film is between te 1:00-2:30 minute mark, and it's a bit under thrown. Can't really tell.

Once he gets on campus and sees that this offense could work with both a running & throwing QB. Might make him have serious interest in us.

Who does IMG Academy play games against? Other high schools? What sort of athletics division are they in within Florida?

This year is the first year they will field a team though they have always had training. Trying to find a schedule now.

Oh and the HC is Heisman winner Chris Weinke, pretty nice mentor to have.

EDIT: couldn't find a football schedule, all the articles I read said TBD. Here's the basketball schedule from last year though, IMG Academy High School Basketball Schedule - MaxPreps , I'd imagine they are some of the same teams.

Could you bless us with your take? What don't you like about O'Conor's film?

Back to O'Conor never once did I say I didn't like his film. Nothing jumped out at me though. Did anything wow you? I watched all 8 minutes and 12 seconds of that. I trust this coaching staff because Brian Kelly has shown he can put a 5th string QB in the NFL. So if the staff thinks he is good enough than sign him up. I had a problem with your post with the whole 5* comment. This is a extremely weak year for QB's best QB I've watched his Keller Chyrst and that kid can toss it all over the yard. Didn't see that with this film, plus his long ball was under thrown. I am not here saying he isn't good I am just telling you what I saw by watching his "highlight" tape.

Than you said he looked like Gunner Kiel go back and watch Gunner's tape. This is just my opinion and the staff know's a lot more than I do so if they Think Michael is worth an offer than I hope he comes to ND.

Well first off I wanted to talk to you about the whole Eddie Vanderdoes thing you saying he might be better than Nix by the end of the year? I almost died laughing when I read that I don't know if you were trying to stir the pot or what but that was funny. You know Nix is the best DT in the country and best player on our team? Eddie hasn't even stepped on campus or go against a college offensive line so that is just pure blasphemy. I wish Eddie nothing but the best and hope he is a dominate college football player.

GB, let me have my opinion. If I'm wrong, I'll even point you to thread, it's easy to find #100 in EVs profile. I'm sure I will be, but EV is an absolute freak.

I've admitted I'm a poor evaluator of talent openly. But he reminds me very much of Keil. Big, tall, strong. Great feet in the pocket. Runs fast and finished runs. Very accurate, but it's a highlight film so that's a given.

I couldn't care less how strong this class's QBs are; I'm not comparing him to said QB(s). But when I watch O'Conor's film, he reminds me of Keil.

That's fine man and it was my bad for bringing up EV in this thread. I agree EV is a freak but lets not clog this thread with Eddie lol.

I wasn't calling you out man I was just giving my opinion like you, but after watching tons of highlight tapes he's not a 5 star lol

Thank you for that info. As a side note, looking through the 2012-13 schedule to which you linked, IMG's basketball team was awful last year (3-27). I would have thought they would be paying for something better than that.

The two best QBs in the country are DeShaun Watson and Chriyst. Both are 5* talents. The rest of the QB class drops off pretty dramatically at that point. Not saying a lower rated kid won't develop into a stud but nobody else has film that is close to the first two.

Freebie: 2014 QB Looking To Visit

So he is a '15 prospect transfers to IMG and suddenly is a '14 prospect and will graduate early? That's 3 semesters less of school

H said in a 247 interview he is going to use his time after he graduates early to go home to Canada and then enroll in his school in the spring.

Interesting Denbrock is recruiting him.
