Lucci is this an indication of the staffs feeling on Soso? Who is higher on our board? And would we take three Rbs?

No not at all. Alford was in on Nick a long long time ago. Nick was initially Alford's #1 target at the position and I imagine he's stayed in contact with him. IMO, from everything that I've seen Soso is currently the guy they want the most. Alford is making him a huge priority. And I agree that we'd take 3. If we have the potential to take 2 elite Rb's then we would.

I don't know the answers to the first two questions but yes they would take three RBs

That would kind of overload one position. I guess if two ELITE RBs want to come to ND maybe, but that is unlikely to happen since we already have 1 RB commit and the chances of getting Soso is 50/50 at best.

I'd say that's right against the field, but I like ND's chances as good or better than Baylor, OU or UCLA at this point.

?

Next year we have Folston and Bryant and Amir. That's it. How would we be overloaded by adding three?

Also, this isn't my opinion. Wiltfong has said that depending on when certain guys are ready to commit that three RBs is certainly a possibility. I'm not saying that the staff would take any two guys but my impression was that the staff would take Ty'son Williams and any elite guy.

I don't think we'd take Williams with Adams on board. I don't think we're interested in any mediocre RBs right now because we've got a quality guy already.

I think we're going to push for 1-2 more RBs... all of whom will be elite guys like Brossette and Jamabo. I think as things stand right now we're in line to land Jamabo.

With Mahone being kicked off the team and McDaniel being a senior, we're low on depth at the position. Need a minimum of two this cycle.

It seems ND is a little more pro active at certain positions since the idea of adding a QB is all but gone for this cycle. I think it affords them the ability to add a RB they normally would've let pass or at a different position.

haha, disappointed I did not put that myself

Taking 3 RBs is overloading one position in one class. We will have Folston, Bryant, Amir, and hopefully 2 2015 RBs. That is a total of 5 RBs, which is plenty. Taking 3 RBs or QBs is never something I recommend doing in a single class.

However, this is really all pretty trivial, we are not going to land 2 Elite RBs. I am just hoping for Soso at this point.

I don't think anyone would complain to get two elite RBs plus a mid-level guy. It is a bit of an overload but I would certainly not complain. #FirstWorldProblems

There is no guarantee that all 3 players would remain at RB. I don't think many thought Russell would play CB in college. And there is always the chance that Bryant or Folston could go pro after 2015 which could end up leaving the shelves bare if we don't bring in 2 RB's in 2016. And Amir is likely going to play mostly at slot from here on out.

One takeaway after watching his film was Brosette's lack of speed. Sure, he has good speed, but it's not elite, and not even great..

then I saw this..

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Nick Brossette measured 6-0, 211, ran 4.8 (40), 4.4 (shuttle) 32 (vert) at <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/HOUNFTC?src=hash">#HOUNFTC</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GetOpen?src=hash">#GetOpen</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/Sonny247">@Sonny247</a></p>— LSU Tigers (@Geaux247) <a href="https://twitter.com/Geaux247/statuses/452834836005523456">April 6, 2014</a></blockquote>

He's a power runner, it shows on film, but 4.8 is an area of concern.

If there's a person I make an exception for, it's the kid who obtained the All-Time Louisiana TD record as a junior...

It's not fast, but I love his running style. You use him to get tough yards, not get around the edge.

Uhhh, yes. Him and Jamabo, yes. Yes all day. I don't care that he lacks speed, Maurice Clarett lacked speed but if you can run through tackles and bull people over and you can find the holes then you can be a very productive back at the next level. Brossette looks like he could be a great complement to a speedier back, ie - Jamabo.

That's very very slow for a RB. But I value production more than testing numbers, and he certainly has that.

He makes quick cuts and he's powerful. Personally, I thought he looked faster than 4.8 in his film, but who knows. I'm quickly starting to sound like an Adams hater, so I won't post about him anymore, but this is another guy I like more than Adams.

I listen to Paul Finebaum's show on the way home because it's the only CFB show on. Fournette (no surprise) is getting even more praise than expected. Some senior on the Tigers team said Fournette will be the best LSU player ever.

I wouldn't blame any 2015 LSU RB commit for looking around.

Les Miles apparently compared him to Michael Jordan is his approach to the game. Hope the hype machine is ready to take some hits.

Don't want to derail the thread, but can't wait to see LSU this year. Frosh everywhere on offense.
