Still don't have my hopes up.

Me neither, but he is my favorite prospect in this class. Fast, physical, great balls skills and looks like he is super competitive and plays with some attitude. Hopefully his recruitment plays out for a while because I think our secondary, and corners in particular could show very well this year with their athleticism in the new scheme.

This recruitment is literally going to end up being twin to JuJu's recruitment.

The only official the five-star knows he wants to take for sure is Notre Dame. Florida State seems like a solid bet to get a trip as well.

I know it's probably a pipe dream but god damn would it be sick to land him. IMO his tape looks a lot better than JuJu's ever was. Unreal that they were on the same team.

Juju and Redfield looked almost better when they were playing on the offense but Marshall looks very polished and natural playing defense, he was born to play at DB position. Crawford and him are very similar in his style but Marshall has already NFL size. Do you guys think is he even better than Su'a Cravens? Maybe Cravens was faster..

someone tell this kid you're not supposed to turn your head to find the ball when in coverage ...

My two cents. The difference between the Cali guys you mentioned is Marshall is the only DB of the 4. So you can tell he is more fluid in his back pedal and more comfortable playing on the outside. Juju and Sua are probably better overall athletes but like you said Marshall has that NFL size and his ability to cover makes him a premium prospect. I'd rank them coming out as follows.

Sua
Iman
Redfield/JuJu

I give the slight edge to Sua because he was an incredible athlete. If Marshall can improve in coverage even more which is possible by the time his HS career is done I'd put him ahead due to the fact that lockdown CB's are so valuable these days.

Sua is definitely the best athlete of the bunch, and maybe have the edge in overall tape, but they are different players. Iman looks natural in man-to-man coverage, which is really rare, especially coming out of high school.

A poster on BGI is saying with some confidence that Iman is visiting ND for an unofficial in July and will also set up an OV. FSU will be on that list as well. Don't know where this is coming from but I'll look for more.

-Told Josh Newberg at 247 that he'll be visiting FSU and ND in July and then again for OV's.

Ideal press-cvg Cornerback for BVG, he fits very well in his scheme.

USC, UCLA, FSU and ND would be his top four, then?

He actually has a top 8 of USC, USC, USC, USC, UCLA, UCLA, ND and FSU.

Great that we're getting visits, but this kid is staying local IMHO and its almost guaranteed to be USC. He's been visiting UCLA a ton lately so they have an outside chance, but he's also at USC even more.

Hopefully a visit can change him though, Redfield style.

The talent USC has recruited/brought in for the secondary the past few years is just silly...

Do not want to see Iman added to of Su'a, Hawkins, Juju, McQuay, and Seymour plus right now they have Shaw...hopefully they struggle to protect their QB this year.

Yeah, USC is close to becoming an elite powerhouse again, IMO. Which is one more reason we don't need to add to schedule strength.

Iman Marshall knows Notre Dame, Florida State will receive official visits - SBNation.com

Not a ton of new information, but he claims he isn't a USC lock. Believe that if you want.

"At the end of the day, I’m making the decision, so whenever anybody else puts that out there, if it hasn’t come out of my mouth then it’s not true," Marshall said. "That’s how I go about it. When I say I’m open to any and everything, I’m open to any and everything."

I'm glad we'll get a visit.

We need to sell him playing time. With all those guys they brought in at USC, he can see field sooner at ND

Told Adam Gorney he is leaning heavily toward officials to ND and Florida State.

I think Marshall is one of a couple that have a legit ament argument to the #1 spot. Lockdown corner that takes away an entire side of the field.

I never seen a prospect playing with that confidence without being cocky. He is confident as ****. I love his attitude and body language on the field.
