I don't know why he wouldn't. Man, that could be a mess for years is he can't take the next step/Dion Waiters stays.

Rumor was he wold only sign a three year deal due to the problems with Dion and the fact it has been such a mess.

I don't see how Cleveland gets anybody, which sucks because they are stocked with young talent.

Some interesting developments thus far:

- Gordon Hayward met with Cavs about a possible max deal. This is by far the most interesting move as of today.
- Other news: Meeks to Pistons; Gortat and Bradley staying with the Warriors and Celtics respectively; Livingston to Warriors; and Rudez coming over from Europe and signing with the Pacers.
- Depending on the moves, the Eastern Conference will get a lot tougher this coming few seasons. Pacers on top, Bulls (if they sign Carmelo), Raptors under Ujiri's leadership, Hornets and Hawks with cap space, Cavs, Magic and Sixers with new coaching staff and tons of top pics (and cap space).

FIFY.

I can't believe Hayward could get max money. That's insane on so many levels. Good player but clearly not a max guy.

Thanks mate.

Gordon to Magic for 9 mil.

Ben Gordon? 9 million....wtf

Typically you see these crazy deals at the back end of free agency because teams have cap space they need to fill and they are almost forced to give bad deals.

There is no way they are going to give Hayward a max deal. Windhorst is the one that reported that and he has been wrong about literally everything he has said during free agency so far.

If not Utah then Phoenix or Dallas seems to be a likely destination for Hayward in my opinion.

For real. Does he literally bring anything to the table...other than first hand knowledge of James' boners from blowing him so many times?

I'm not sure the dude can speak intelligently about anything that doesn't involve lebron james.

Man just in general the start to free agency this year has been atrocious in terms of journalism. Half the dudes seem to be just throwing complete bullshit out there. The only one you can trust is Woj.

He reminds me of a cross between Danny Devito playing the Penguin and Peter King from SI. He is such an ass hat. I can't think of another single instance where a guys "journalistic" career is tied to 1 specific athlete. If Lebron leaves Miami, that team is irrelevant and thus he is completely irrelevant... again.

Brian Windhorst is my friend's husband lol. Only met him once but he is kind of a douche. I get good info from her though.

Melo in New York has been amazing. Him playing the 4 is actually very underrated but he's not taken care of his body too well over the years.

I think he's overrated. He can score, but he's not a team player and doesn't play defense.

I disagree. People have been hating on him so much the past couple years that he's actually underrated. He's a far better player now than he was in Denver. He plays the 4 much better than the 3. Small ball suits him very well.

As of now, all signs indicate towards the 'Big Three' remaining with the Heat. But if Lebron was seriously looking then I think he should give the Suns a serious look. They just have all the ingredients to have a successful team minus a player of superstar status:
1) Good point guards in Dragic and Bledsoe (whom the Suns can sign for less than the max) signed to long term deals; young centers with potential to develop in Plumlee and Len; and versatile forwards in the Morris twins, PJ Tucker and Green. They just drafted Tyler Ennis, TJ Warren and Bogdanovic this year, young pieces in what is considered to be a deep draft.
2) Furthermore, the team also has a couple of first round picks in either the 2015 or 2016 draft in addition to their own.

3) It has already been posted that the Suns have enough cap room to sign two players to max contracts as it stand now. Lebron can play with whoever he wants without the player taking a paycut.

4) Lastly, Hornacek is considered to be a really good and innovative coach as well.

Other than the Cavs, I wonder which other team can provide Lebron this opportunity.

What player in NY did he make better? There are a ton of "scorers" in the league. Melo is certainly that, but a guy you build your team around he is not.

Wooly,
Stop making sense. It's fun to watch the Knicks suck and every 3 years have some old dude show up promising to "fix" them.

What player in NY was good enough to even be better? Chandler has too many miles on him. Felton has sucked since Portland. (Nobody can make him better.) JR is a head case however he did win 6th man the year before. Melo helped Copeland and Steve Novak collect a pretty paycheck. Shumpert has done alright with Melo. Amare is a walking injury.

Look at the 12-13 roster when they won 54 games. Without Melo, they don't sniff 54. LBJ he is not but Melo is someone you can build around. He needs a PG like a Calderon with guys who can hit 3's along with defensive minded C and a coach that doesn't suck like Woodson.

Not sure how much you've watched him since he left Denver but even in Denverhe lost to the eventual NBA champs every year but 1 in the playoffs. It took LBJ teaming with Wade and Bosh to win a title. Guy just needs a half decent roster.

So basically he needs a great team around him to win.
