Great re-design by Illinois.

Nice, sleek, and simple scheme that matches their identity. Huge improvement with their helmets. The "I" shield logo is distinctive without being obnoxious.

I dont see it. The weird red white and blue shield made me think i was seeing new US soccer uniforms. Also confusing that the negative space of the I makes the outside look like an H.

I assume this is across all sports.

When will the uniforms be rolled out, just prior to the seasons?

How do they handle something so immense, (all sports)?

Will things be leaked slowly, particularly as Ryan Grooms has in past? (By the way, he is really a nice guy.)

Honestly how many people will actually look at Illinois soccer jerseys...

I actually really like the redesign on the football jerseys. Not over the top and pretty smooth.

I have a guess. It has to do with the trouble that D.C.'s team is in with their racist name.

Illinois may feel that they should get out in front of it and proclaim patriotism and all that. I'm not saying I have a problem at all with the name 'Fighting Illini',(although I have a huge problem with D.C.'s moniker,) it's just a guess.


Edit: After a little research, perhaps I should have a problem with Chief Illiniwek being used as a mascot. But like I said, I'm just guessing why they have that dumb shield on their unis. Maybe they want to capitalize on the recent success of the Captain America film.

You know, it does in the bottom picture... but on the unis it sure looks red.
