One criticism of the staff during BK's tenure is being a little slow with offers and recruiting next years class and in some cases it's valid. However, they seem to have identify some very quality 2016 kids early and are putting in some work. For that I tip my cap to them.

I agree with that. It's hard not to love 2016 recruiting so far.

Ahhh, next year's recruits-- the eternal Back-Up QB, aka, the favorite player on the team.

I'm scratching my head wondering why, given the statements he's made about ND, he just doesn't commit already. I would think that this would be an easy decision if he harbors such strong feelings about ND.

Because maybe the next school he visits he could love with double the "every existence of my body"

He has so much time before he needs to decide. As fans we'd like to see him commit ASAP but it's probably better he takes his time. Also we just offered on Friday so he has only been able to commit for 3days.

Michigan would over sign every year if it were that easy lol

I saw a couple things in the article I liked.

Buster, I see the "slow to offer argument." But also, something about the curious detachment of the coaching staff at times. You never get that from Alford. But at times thing seemed clinical/sterile. Not anymore!

The two best things I liked were the coaches jumping up and down with Smith and Hayes! 1) BVG, and the assistants were in it and it extended to BK, even if he wasn't jumping; painting a much more recruit friendly picture of BK and the staff; 2) And most importantly, Bobby Elliot jumping up and down with them. I love this guy having never met him, in his upper 60's after all the health issues he has been through, that he is still out there and active is way to great!

This kid is a soft sell just like Jaylon Smith.

he's the cousin of Michigan RB Justice Hayes. Daelin set a commitment announcement date of April 27, then backed off it. Should be a good battle that comes down to MSU-ND-UM.

Interesting. I remember Justice being a big recruiter for ND while he was commited.

So he has been balling out this spring and summer and did so again at the rivals underclassmen challenge. It wouldn't surprise me if he's a top 50ish recruit when it gets going for that class. Here's a bit from TJ on Daelin.

TJ,

Hayes effectively is being recruited as Jaylon's successor, likely at Will.

Would love to have that piece in place.

Schrader thinks it would be shocking if Hayes wasn't a Trojan.
I think he's full of shit.

Is Schrader the guy that thinks everyone should be a Trojan?

To be fair, Loy has gotten better.

You're right and I'm not really a Loy hater. He seems like a genuine guy, and I appreciate his eternal optimism.

Schrader on the other hand comes across as a douche. That assessment is mostly based on his allegiance, I will admit. (Doesn't make it wrong.)
