@AnnaHScout: Telling quotes out of 4-star DE Mekhi Brown regarding status w/ #Bama & visit to #NotreDame ($) http://t.co/0iP37pqToG via @JohnGarcia_Jr

Anna thinks ND is sitting at a "solid" #2. She doesn't think he's decommitting anytime soon.

Brown did say something very interesting, he said the only difference between ND and Bama/OSU is that ND has an Ivy League education.

Some kids really do pay attention, and some don't, whether or not he decides to take that path is entirely up to him. Would love to see him in an Irish uniform, but will not get my hopes up too high.

If that's the only difference in his eyes then come on down!!!

"Actually, Mekhi, ND's degree value is superior to most Ivy League schools."

*adjusts tie*

I think we can let this comparison slide, though.

Fyi: some of his latest tweets and retweets basically state he knows where his bread is buttered. I hope he gives us a hard look. I guess that is all we can ask.

Yes and many of them went to other SEC schools like Auburn. ND and Bama...that's like a night and day difference.

While I agree, even after his glowing statements about his visit, that this will be a tough pull. This isn't the average SEC recruit. He's very engaged in his academics at the HS level and his 3.7 GPA proves that.

Doesn't matter in my opinion. Alabama is going to be a national contender for the as long as Saban is there. If he is looking to win, he will go to Alabama.

I don't agree with this at all. ND will never gets kids that have winning as priority #1 nor do we want them as the academics with weed them out quickly. However, most kids elite kids have winning as one of many priorities. Winning is a part of the equation for a lot of these kids. Its not the only part but I don't think anybody is saying that. Bama didn't win the NCG last year but they were #1 in recruiting. Winning and recruiting don't have a 100% correlation but it does matter. Kelly is starting to do that and these kids are taking notice. Greg Bryant is not at ND unless we have a very good 2012 season. Same could be said for Redfield. Combining winning football and a world class education is what ND's ticket is all about. So yes winning has a lot to do with it.

Thanks for posting Lucky

Basically, if he only cares about winning, he will go to Alabama.

He already knows ND is on an upward trend. We will always be competitive with Kelly. Therefore, it doesn't matter what we do this year. We have already done it with some level of sustained winning. Make sense?

Not really. This kid is a good student, apparently, evidenced by his GPA. He is the kind of kid that will do well wherever he goes and I hope he gives ND a shot to prove that it can help him more.

Aside from personally believing that Saban is a douchebag, I have no real contempt for Alabama... I guess I just don't have enough contempt to go around, seeing as how I max out on hatred for everything U$C!

That said, I would be absolutely giddy if we pulled this kid away from Alabama! Not just because I think he's an elite recruit with tons of talent, but I would just really get a jolly out of causing butthurt to the Crimson Tide faithful.*

*Except for T Town Tommy; I think he's a good dude!

That's what sucks about Alabama. They'd probably just sign someone better. They lost a 5-star QB commit this year, and what do they do? Just upgrade to Barnett, lol.
