This'll get crazy. That should be a great home and home. I'm not worried as long as the staff can remain here.

This is good as long as we're not adding to the gauntlet that is our schedule, but replacing one of the tougher games instead.

Clearly an exciting matchup from a viewer's perspective but I think you all know my stance on why this is a terrible idea.

Waiting to see the full schedule before I approve/disapprove of this matchup. Others have said it better, but imo, you really need 2 or 3 gimmes, a handful of 50/50, and 2 or 3 matchups against the power programs for a successful schedule. If Jack continues to schedule a gauntlet for ND, it'll be tough to consistently put up 10-win seasons with a shot at the playoffs. Just my thoughts.

Note: Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see UGA vs ND but only if they replace another top tier program...not add to it.

We need to get used to playing the big boys regularly. In the playoff era its games like these during the regular season that will decide who the top 4 are. There wont be a weekly BCS ranking to keep track of. You play. You win. You are in. Its that simple. Plus this is a big recruiting location.

We do play the "big boys" regularly. They're just not SEC teams. I have no problem with adding UGA and I agree that it's a great recruiting location. But if ND is adding Georgia, I'd prefer they drop one of the other "big boys" instead of adding another. It'll be nearly impossible to get to the playoff with these brutal schedules. Not because ND isn't capable of beating said teams, but mainly because it's wrong to expect them to win against these teams week in and week out.

That's the thing though. We wont be playing Clemson, UNC, and FSU every year. As far as I know we only have USC, Stanford, and Navy scheduled for the near future as definite games. So I dont know why everyone thinks that we will be playing ridiculous schedules every year when we only know who is on the schedule through 2016.

I really dont think ND would take off Umass and add UGA. It would be more like taking off MSU to add UGA.

I agree. And it's why I said I won't approve/disapprove of the series until after I see the full schedule for those years.

Still doesn't make up for getting rid of Michigan, but it's a good opponent in a rich recruiting area.

Agreed. Everyone loves this game until ND goes 10-2 and misses out on the playoffs because they lost to Georgia instead of romping Cincinnati or Air Force or Indiana or whoever.

This is a upgrade in my opinion but one I wish they didn't schedule. I understand we need to schedule tough but some of this is just silly. If we want Disney ND and just go for the attraction of Big Games then this is awesome but if we want to win these they have to be spread out.

Would you believe that I have a dedicated folder in my bookmarks bar to posts in this thread?

2019 is going to SUCK haha. 4 confirmed out of ACC games are at Texas, at Georgia, at Stanford, and home vs. USC.

Is it? Assuming the rotating schedule stays as currently constructed... ND will play...

FSU
Georgia
USC
Stanford
Michigan State

UNC
Louisville
Syracuse
Wake Forest or BC

Navy + 2.

I'm not a fan. That's stupid hard. Can't project out that far, but as of last year it'd be playing the #1, #3, #11, #15, #19, #21... and that's with Georgia getting crushed by a truly epic amount of injuries to be unranked.

A nice follow-up tweet would be something like 'And ND adds Central Michigan to its future schedule in lieu of MSU'.

Remind me to get really optimistic about our 2020 team at the end of 2018.
