Mayock and Deion Sanders both said they bench press at the combine is overrated for DBs. Deion said he has never met anybody that wouldn't draft someone because they only did 10 reps.

Mayock pointed out that there are other ways to show power and explosion and he doesn't like the bench press. He said it really only shows how much dedication a guy put in at the gym during his 4-5 years in college.

Also said since we don't really care about 40 times for OL, why the bench for DBs?

But if you have two guys that are similar in other areas and one pounded out 25 reps and the other 11...who are you gonna take?

Those weren't my opinions and I do weigh bench a bit more differently then those two but they have been around the NFL for so many years, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt over my inexperience.

Do you honestly believe the Bench Press would ever be a determining factor for a DB's draft position?

Eifert is quietly increasing his stock in the draft, I would not be surprised if he was to go before Teo, although Teo I think will go late first round-- again 40 yard dash is ONE of the metrics they use .....

I was asking if two guys were the same in every other category...who would you take?

Simple question.

And I am saying do you honestly believe there is ever a situation where two DBs are the same in every single determining factor and it comes down to bench press?

I don't.

Not saying Zeke will be Lynch by any means, I just don't think a 4.75 means he should pack it up and start his George Clinton school of Fashion & Accessories.

So you wouldn't take Zeke.......LOL.

And way to evade the question.

I didn't evade the question. I answered it - the bench difference wouldn't factor into the decision. I would take the better player on film.

It was a bad question with poor logic.

Who are the top safety's in this years draft?

Probably Jefferson (OK) and Reid (LSU), then who?

Zeke's 40 just hurt his stock a bit. If he ran well, I was thinking he might be a 3rd or 4th rounder. Now I'm not sure. Maybe 6th?

Kenny Vaccaro from Texas and Matt Elam from Florida are the two highest rated I believe

not surprised by zeke's time, he never looked blisteringly fast on the field, but he did a very good job of putting himself in the right position. not sure if that'll be enough to make up for the poor 40 time.

His 40, his bench....he needs to really do well in the drills.

Not to mention, he doesn't have the production that many of the other guys have. He's not a playmaker as they mentioned about the other guys.

Strong tackler...but that's about it.

I would be suprised if he goes before the 6th round.

Of course this can change with a great pro day.....but as of this moment.
