I was going to say Tahj Boyd. He isn't going to be scoring with his legs from 50+ yds. out but he will be able to keep defenses honest and pick up nice chunk yards 10-15 yds at a time if they don't respect his legs.
24 sec mark Tajh Boyd asks if you think he can score from 47. haha

On the hoof, yeah he looks a lot like Cam, but he isn't nearly as quick or overall as athletic.
You make a really good point. OSU has been all over Haskins for about a year or so now. That's his likely destination. We have been in Pass' top two for as long as I can remember now.Considering there's talk Haskins could commit to OSU relatively soon that would leave us alone on top...
Barton Simmons just put in a CB to ND. Hmmmm
I saw that too. Momentum with the GA boys huh? Would not hurt my feelings to grab two studs from Carver.

I like Pass and Shea very much but as good as they could be I think there is IMO A gap in talent between Eason and Henry and the next tier of talent that is Costello, Patterson, Pass and Haskins.Simmons, Wiltfong, and Warren are the guys I keep an eye on the most, so yeah Iike seeing this. I just got done watching Pass's film and are you kidding me? He is outstanding. The debate of which QB starts here for me and it's actually pretty easy to see why when you watch his tape. Big time arm with great mobility and speed. Henry is great and I wouldn't be mad if that happened, but if not Pass then the other kid I like best is Shea Patterson. He has great film as well and looks like he would excel in Kelly's offense. Difference between the two is that Pass is 3 inches taller and 0.2 a second faster. They both get the job done though and I would like the chase to start with both of them. Very interesting to see who we end up with though because there is some big-time talent in next years QB class!

That said Pass would be a great get and if Haskins ends up being an early commit to tOSU that could create a chain reaction as that would give ND more of a chance with Henry and Pass might be ND's to lose if he really has tOSU and ND as his co-leaders.

this --
1a Eason
1b Henry
2 Pass
I look at it this way
Eason being a pocket passer MUST be able to read a defense in order to survive. Watching his film you can clearly see him go through progressions. Add on top of killer accuracy and arm strength and you got a great QB. If you can identify the defense and comprehend the schematics then you are halfway there to being good. That was TR biggest advantage. This kid appears to have the same strengths plus stronger arm and way more accurate. Reese mind with Crist tools essentially. Eason weakness of mobility is mitigated when you throw him in the shotgun and take into account the horses we have in running backs and the monsters upfront building a fort knox like pocket... This is the same theory on how Manning can survive in the NFL with no mobility
Henry is a close 2nd. His throwing motion is a little off but nothing too serious, Hes got a strong arm and clearly more athletic than Eason. I just dont see enough progression reads in his film on a consistent basis. Its not always easy to tell so its not a deal breaker. I love the fact hes a pass first QB and he has a strong pocket sense. He will definitely extend the play with his feet if need to be. I forgot if it was Henry or Eason, but one of them already has a pretty legit play action. Thats perfect for the things we want to do.
Difference is I think Eason will be able pick up the offense faster since he doesnt rely on his legs, he has to rely on his mind. So while both Eason and Henry are capable of starting sooner than later, I think Eason would be further along and therefore we can run more of the offense sooner. Thats only going to help his stock as he gets more experienced. But i wouldnt complain if either one wanted to commit
Then theres a significant drop IMO with Pass and the rest of the tier. Pass just doesnt do it for me. Hes got the size and frame to grow but hes a run first QB. There is very little progression in his film. Its almost like they have a predetermined person to throw to and he sits back counts to 3 and chucks it. Thats going to work in HS but not college. Hes also not as mobile as Henry, or at least doesnt appear to be. His running looks a little stiff but hes what 6'4? you tend to expect that. I think hes a developmental project and an unknown quantity. Eason is significantly better in everything minus mobility compared to Pass
So as to fit -- they all fit. I can see an offense all 3 play in. But the ability to bring us to the next level i Think its Eason/Henry then the rest of the guys were considering.

Throwing the ball 70 yds doesn't make you a good QB. Can't read a coverage scheme is a pretty big deal. You kind of want your QB to be able to do that
