Clemson, FSU, Florida, and Georgia all feel they have a good shot per ISD.

247 has Clemson, LSU, FSU, and Auburn as the warm schools.

Just makes the fact that we stole an OV for this kid that much bigger.

Why didn't we provide BBQ? Doesn't Kelly know how much recruits love BBQ

Providing barbeque as food and having a "BBQ" are two entirely different things for a person from the south.

Austin Bryant had a great time during his visit to camp. He'll return with his family for the Cookout in July. It was not in the cards for a commitment during camp but it could be a story line to watch for his return visit for the Cookout. One of the big questions answered on his recent trip was the academic side of Clemson. Bryant left impressed with his tour of Clemson's academic facilities. Bryant Visited Notre Dame this past weekend.

This from a Clemson writer? Are they referring to the ND camp? Or was he at another Clemson camp recently?

He means the annual "All in Cookout" where commits and their families come to get together so this is a real BBQ. Clemson only has room for about three more recruits and Austin is on their real short list. If he goes there for the BBQ, I bet he commits.

Clemson zeroes in on top football recruits

Getting in on him early I think will be a huge factor here. Also ISD had an article on him today and it discussed transcripts being looked at. Think about how huge it is that we are looking at kids as early as there FR and SO years. Meaning foreign language classes will no longer be the derailment of a possible commitment down the stretch. That has been a thorn in our side for awhile now and this will be huge moving forward. The article made it clear that he needs to fulfill the requirement, but he fully intends to do just that. That has stuck with me all day since reading, and I cannot believe how much more further along we are now that Kelly is fixing these snags that have kept us from getting back in top. I really think Kelly should get a lot more credit from the fan base. If he keeps this up, we will not only get back to the big game, but we will win it again.

I agree Yank, I think the program is starting to address some of these details. A lot of credit should go to the job Coach Alford is doing also. I think he is one of the best in the country at recruiting coordinator, and I don't know of anyone I would prefer at Notre Dame.

I'm an idiot, I got ahead of myself. This should be for Auston Robertson's thread. The sentiment is still the same though. Getting in early and offering, while ensuring the classroom stuff is taken care of is going to go a long way for us.

Says he's down to five schools. Clemson and Notre Dame are definitely two of the 5. Also said he will be committing soon in a few weeks or so. Visiting Clemson for the Cookout before announcing his decision, seems like Clemson to me

are ND coaches able to get down there and visit him before he announces?

Well, proximity to home shouldn't be a major concern since Clemson is nearly 6 hours away from home, which is still a trip. But recruiting has made me almost despise the words "Cookout" and "Barbeque". They never seem to bode well for ND.

Clemson. If he makes any more visits to other schools I will be surprised.
